Tonight, grilled crappie, fried taters, some sort of new version of bis uit my wife is making and some broccoli.  Butter swim biscuits, they are a whole different texture and absolutely delicious.

More sammiches tonight. Turkey and brie paninnis. I did mine with peach jam and spicy mustard. The Mrs. did plum jam and wished she'd done it my way :D DSCF0056.jpg

Stopped at a small store on the way home and walked out with a little 10# plus boneless pork loin that I am unsure what I will do with, and a bag of 10.count shrimp and bundle of asparagus.   Butter, garlic and some cajun seasoning for the shrimp and a quick run through a skillet for the asparagus, quick easy and dad gum delicious.

Finally got around to trying Marcella Hazen's simple tomatoe sauce recipe. Stinking easy, and thought it was very good. Made some skinless chicken thigh parm, and pan of zucs/squash/ and peppers for the side, tossed the sauce on both. Will do that again. Added the onion to the baked veggies after the sauce was done. Kids Gobbled it up. Wife picked the cheese of the top of the chicken, but liked it too.

Yeah!   It’s good and easy.  We get meatballs and bread from the Hill with a Caesar salad.  Great easy weekday meal.

Love to visit the Hill. Their bread is the best...Fazio's, Vitale, & Missouri Baking.  All are icons like Leidenheimer bread for Nawlin's Po Boy's.

Homemade cabbage rolls with a brat last night.

A few recent ones. Pork green chili on corn tortillas with egg and a little cheese:

Biscuits and gravy:

First try at pretzels. Plain salted and cinnamon and sugar. Fairly good but a little doughy at the cross where it’s thickest. Also probably would add the cinnamon and sugar later in the bake next time. Got a little too dark. Also, we might just do rods or bites next time. Less work, more consistent cook. But...the kids gobbled these up:

Made a beer and cheese sauce that was pretty good -- just winged it. Roux, beer, cheese, cayenne, grainy mustard.
