ness Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 Speaking of chili… The missus was over in Independence today and when I got wind I asked her to bring home some Dixon’s chili. Dixon’s has been around for over a hundred years and was a favorite of Harry Truman, and more importantly, my dad. It’s very different. Lightly seasoned beef, kidney beans cooked separately and you order the mix the way you want: meat only, juicy with meat juice (grease), with beans, soupy- with bean juice, over spaghetti or a tamale. There’s no tomato in it. If you want ketchup, there’s a “fine” or extra charge. It’s about how you dress it. I do ketchup and pepper vinegar but they offer diced onion, cheese, etc. To us, it’s the perfect chili dog topping because it’s not too wet. So that’s what we had tonight. Freakin delicious. You’ll have to use your imagination though because there are no pics. rps and BLUEWATER 2 John
MOPanfisher Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Today is wife's birthday, she requested ribeye and whatever vegetable I wanted to add. Seared the ribeye and it cooked to a nice rare to medium rare. Asparagus came out darn good too. nomolites, ness and rps 3

ness Posted March 29 Author Posted March 29 Homemade pizza! I’m sure people will ask so I’ll provide the recipe: Ingredients 1 Totino’s Hamburger Party Pizza 1/2 glob grated cheese, chef’s choice Directions 1. Place pizza on a cooking thing. 2. Add cheese. 3. Cook according to package directions but add 5 minutes. Seriously: the missus and I both had a busy week and are tired of cooking and eating out too. We saw those pizzas at the store, chuckled and thought what the heck?? 🤪 rps and BilletHead 2 John
rps Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Tinned fish and tabouli tonight. Pictures were not inspiring, but very tasty.
ness Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 I just noticed we've passed the 10-year mark with this thread last month. Almost 1400 pages at 10 posts per page. That's kinda crazy! BilletHead and Daryk Campbell Sr 2 John
