MOPanfisher Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Agreed, stuffed cabbage soup sounds like a fantastic idea for a cool fall or winter day.
rps Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Tonight we will feature Chicken Picatta, a salad of arugula/green beans/pepperoni/fontina/tomatoes with an olive oil and red wine vinegar finish, an the wife's apple pandowdy. Maybe pictures later. Chief Grey Bear and BilletHead 2
snagged in outlet 3 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Smoked then fried chicken wings with slaw and home grown tomatoes. Sugarfire! Sorry, the girls are gone and I'm ordering take out. rps, Chief Grey Bear, MOPanfisher and 1 other 4
Terrierman Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Chili. Carrot sticks and ranch dressing. Cinnamon rolls. Weird I know. But a good combination.
rps Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Late last year I posted about cassoulet, a French farm wife meat and beans. Last night I put white kidney beans to soak and early this afternoon I put the casserole together. Think chicken quarters, pork chops, garlic sausage, and bacon with onion and beans in homemade chicken stock and good herbs. It has been in a 275 oven since 1:15. The house smells incredible! Tomato cucumber salad on the side and a decent Aussie shiraz to balance the plate arrangement. Johnsfolly and joeD 2
MOPanfisher Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Sounds good, now I gotta go look it up to see what it is supposed to look like. Well a quick search shows it can look like almost anything.

I thought it would be the Ness version. Get can from cupboard. Open. Empty contents into microwave save dish. Heat. Let cool. Eat. Wow! That maybe more steps than my way! LOL!! What the hell? Are you picking up the torch that JoeD dropped?? ? I'm gonna tell it like it is. Frozen ravioli and a good sauce are good eats. I did grate some cheese on it. That took some effort. You put a store-bought wiener in the smoker and declared that fine coo-zeen and I gave you a pass? Speaking of lasagne, I Saw this recipe that I thought sounded promising. In other news, ness scored some dilly beans this weekend and immediately plopped a couple in a martini as per recommendations from rps and Gavin: I'm on board! Nice salty, spicy, bitter addition. Only problem is those dilly beans make it hard to focus my eyes. Johnsfolly and Chief Grey Bear 2 John
