moguy1973 Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Made this pressure cooker pulled pork tonight. Pork butt with bacon, smoked garlic sea salt, water and some garlic for about 90 minutes. Shred it when it's done and then bring a core removed head of cabbage up to pressure for 5 minutes in the liquid that is left behind to go with it. Best pulled pork I've had. The meat and cabbage almost melt in your mouth. joeD Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Pitmasters from the South would weep and hang their heads seeing pork treated like that. No wood. No smoke. No love.

But it takes them 18 hours or some crap like that to get a similar product that probably doesn't taste much better. rps 1 -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
ness Posted September 16, 2016 Author Posted September 16, 2016 Bierock burgers. Ground beef, cabbage, onion, garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, a little red pepper and served on a decent bun. I like it with ketchup. Chief: this will scratch that cabbage itch. BilletHead, Chief Grey Bear, Johnsfolly and 1 other 4 John

I don't believe I have even had stuffed cabbage rolls, I have had stuffed grape leaves at a Lebanese restaurant in Springfield, hey were good, a little different in texture and flavor but good. Don't know that I would order them again. Also had some of the darkest, strongest, most evil coffee I have ever drank there, bottom 1/4 of the cup was all grounds, supposedly they Lebanese stirred it up and drank it grounds and all. I tried and nearly choked to death on the grounds, I ended up putting a dash of cold water to settle the grounds out to drink the coffee, had a little cardamom in it which was also different for me. It was probably "That Lebanese Place" We ate there once and thought everything tasted the same, like it had been seasoned with dirt. Place has great reviews. I presume from folks who like the taste of dirt. Chief Grey Bear 1

Gavin Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Have no idea what a bierock is, but can get a a good loose meat burger at the Maid Rite in Rolla any time you roll through. Fried chicken is good and the house made cream soda is great. Crock pot pulled pork.....no thanks. No smoke, no bark. Braised Pork with spicy Ketchup IMO. Sorry you want to eat that;)!
