Well now I have another check off the bucket list. I can now say that I have found ripe pawpaws. While fishing I got into a grove of pawpaw on the bank and smelled bananas. I looked around and found this bunch. They were soft to the touch. Picked all five and stuck them in my fishing vest. There were lots of trees around maybe 150 stems to real trees. I found some by sight and a couple more by scent. I ended up finding 11 ripe ones and seven rock solid fruit. My family actually like them. Now we have a cup full of seeds to plant near our little pawpaw stem out behind our chicken yard. No pictures of us enjoying them.

We like them but just can eat so much before growing tired of the taste. Let me know how the planting goes. I planted some we bought from the conservation department. There are eight still growing. Been in the ground five years. Damp spot in the yard like they favor in the wild. Very slow growing. The tallest maybe three feet.

I'll keep you posted. As you said they are slow growing. So it may be a couple of years before anything exciting happens with them.

6 pounds of ground venison, no added fat, 5 diced onions, 3 boxes of Carol Shelbyville seasoning, 2 cast iron skillets.  Having a community celebration tomorrow at our church.  Will be burgers and dogs on the grill, so ya gotta have chili for to ping right.  Besides I get to keep the leftovers.

Mr Billethead: Yes you and your wife are putting food in your mouth. Eff you to joeD. Understand. I don't think the egg sandwich does though. All it wanted was to be enjoyed, not used as a prop in an angry rebuttal post.

(thanks for the action pictures though, including eating peanut butter. much more interesting and personal, whether you know it or not, than a recipe  and standard dish picture. its a start)

(thanks to our teacher, rps, waiting patiently while his unruly students fuss and bother, to continue his culinary teachings to us OAF members and foodie neophytes).

I'm sure that most on here thought that the egg sandwich was a humorous way of saying "lighten up Francis!"

I had venison tonight, sorry no pics though.  Loins with some S&P, and wrapped.in bacon, grilled to a beautiful.mdoum rare.  Honestly it needed a little more kick of some kind.  Sautéed Bolete mushrooms from my yard, gave 2 more wal mart sacks of them to friends and he has been dehydrating them but saved enough to Sautee for a topping on the loin. Friends did the loin and shooms justice.  Though the blueberry sauce intrigues me.
