pasta? just pasta? not even butter and parm?

I have seasoned two chicken leg quarters with Penzy's tandori spices. Those will roast at 375 for most of an hour.

I have cauliflower florets and carrot chips ready to suate with onion and turn into a quick curry.

I will also use chicken broth to make some rice.

It won't be gourmet but twill serve.

Saw a couple tri-tip steaks at the store. Different store than I usually go to. That's a good cut of meat -- flavorful, well-marbled. Wish I saw them more..

Tomorrow I am going to bake polish sausage with kraut and apples.  Make a side of garlic masher potato.  Maybe some sweet corn too.

That sounds great. Details and pictures would be appreciated.

Tri tips are a great way to feed four or five people with one good cook.  I bark mine both sides on the komado joe running hot.  Then I set it off the fire and choke it down to almost nothing.  Maybe 25 minutes start to finish on the grill, then let it rest about 10 minutes.  Slices medium to medium rare to mostly rare cut cross grain about 1/2 inch thick cooked that way.  Any good rub is good.  Sauteed mushrooms are a great topper.

Sometime back I posted about "Not Your Mother's Meatloaf." She who must be heeded asked me to make that for tonight. Recipe and pictures are on my blog.  :-)

           Speaking of meatloaf :) ,

Last couple of weeks we have been eating well. Fried wild turkey and goose fajitas good but old news to most of you all. There has been some new dishes though. First of all a meatloaf. I grew up eating meatloaf and spaghetti. Quite a bit of both because both parents worked and it was easy. So I see everyone making it on here and I thought I might like to go for it again. The Mrs. found a recipe for Jamaican style meatloaf. Fifty-fifty ground venison and ground pork. Some of the goodies mixed into the meat included shredded carrots, strong brewed coffee and of course onion, bread crumbs and eggs. Oh my then there is the topping. Caramelized bananas, sweet peppers, olives, orange zest, orange juice, brown sugar and crushed red pepper flakes,

So good and leftovers included sammiches on homemade potato rolls,

Then this from today. Albondigas Al Chipotle

Meatballs in a chipotle adobo sauce. Again ground venison was the star. Served on a bed of rice. Look at this plate, yes it is mine as the Mrs. had a few less meatballs on hers :) . Browned the meatballs and finished cooking in the sauce. We like very much and thinking about just making the sauce from time to time to mix with rice for a Spanish rice side dish,
