ness Posted May 13, 2017 Author Posted May 13, 2017 How in the heck did you gather all my dangs??? That's impressive, all by its self. But, more importantly, what about that pizza??? I mean, look at that freakin pizza!! Mitch f and BilletHead 2 John
rps Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Ness, you are right, an awesome pizza. Since 2:00 I have had a skirt steak marinating in olive oil with garlic, lemon juice, and herbs. Shortly after that I cut up some baby waxy potatoes and put them in with white wine, olive oil, garlic, and lemon juice with herbs. I will roast those and stir in crumbled feta. In a bit I will shred some carrots on the box grater and turn those into a salad with chopped artichoke hearts, olive oil, and lemon (a favorite Marcella Hazen recipe). I do not know how to make a meal more Mediterranean unless I use anchovies, capers, and black olives. But those I must save for tomorrows lamb. ness and Gavin 2
BilletHead Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 HAIL CESAR salad that is, The BilletHead's decided for a salad this evening. Used the romaine we grew in the garden. Even made the Cesar dressing from scratch.Yep with anchovy's and raw egg yellows. Not too shabby we say, BilletHead Daryk Campbell Sr, ness and Gavin 3 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" MOPanfisher Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 Well I really didon't cook much tonight. After a quick trip to spfld to retrieve my wife from urgent care after she badly sprained it while sitting my grandson, I didn't have time for much. So a Rosemary Garlic rotisserie chicken from walmart, a package of Hawaiian rolls, and a container of deviled egg potato salad later supper was served, and it was good. About that time my 84 yr old mother brought in some strawberries to make freezer jam with. She them stemmed them while we ate but finally I did cook something, basically sugar, water and sure gel. But the results are good all year long. ness, Gavin and BilletHead 3
MOPanfisher Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 And the after dinner drink, some pureed strawberries I didn't use, vodka, sprite and a couple ice cubes. ness, rps, grizwilson and 3 others 6
rps Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 Taking a swing at this tonight: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1018752-sauteed-lamb-chops-with-ramps-anchovy-capers-and-olives?action=click&module=Local Search Recipe Card&pgType=search&rank=1 Homemade tabbouleh on the side.
rps Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 Let's take this thread off track, ok? Last Friday I took pictures of the lunch served to the poor students in my school. The new food director does not know how to supervise a kitchen, the school board refuses to write a budget to supplement the dollars received from the feds and state, and the salt and grain and fat restrictions are ridiculous. The perfect storm, eh?
