    First time try,

Butternut squash soup. I am going to give my dish a Ness DANG. I suppose I am going to plant some squash next year incase I cannot find a wild volunteer plant :). I went ahead and ate, the poor working Mrs. BilletHead will have to wait until she gets home from work. I am going to use the excuse the cook had bad timing,

I posted a link just above . I just got the Mrs. fed a bowl. She is very happy with me right now even though I left her with the pile of cooking fallout. We still have a deal if I cook she will clean up. This is a win, win. just so you all know I sometimes clean up just not making it a habit. Once you spoil them they begin to expect  it :) .

JohnsFolly do not show this to your better half. Keep this a secret and use it in good health :D,

So tonight we tried the deer heart and my favorite cut of venison, the tenderloin! We followed Steven Rinella's grilled heart recipe (thanks BH for the suggestion). We made a simple marinade with white wine vinegar, olive oil, and montreal steak seasoning and marinaded the heart for 5 hours. We kept the heart cold prior to grilling it on really high heat from the coals. The tenderloins (tend to stick on the grill) were cooked in a cast iron skillet on medium-high heat. The tenderloins were rubbed with olive oil and coated with a spicy montreal seasoning. Both meats were cooked to rare / medium-rare. Served with sauted onions and zucchini and white corn. Getting requests to go out and bring home more hearts :)! Should have thought about having a glass of red wine ;)!

I agree BH. I won't be leaving them for the coyotes ever again.

Looks tasty RPS if a bit too healthy for me.  I am going to call my series of meals the "dirty T shirt" series.  My wife stopped by the local store where she found some large pork steaks on sale.  Every bit of 3/4 inch thick, I opted to.simply season it with the salt/pepper/garlic powder mix I like and drop it into a cast iron skillet to sear a little, then reduced it to sizzle a while.  In a second skillet I diced uo some red taters and browned them in some olive oil and bacon grease.  Add salad in a bag and boom supper is served about 30 minutes later.  For drinks I chose tap water for my mom and a flat partly drank coca cola for me.  Flavor was very good, I give it the "dirty T shirt"  seal of approval.
