My early morning task was not eggs. I put together a spicy but not hot chili.

Two pounds seared ground chuck, two pounds seared chopped stew meat (about 1/4 inch size), one large can Cento crushed tomatoes, one bottle Founders porter, a mug of black coffee, two sautéed  diced onions, 5 large cloves garlic, one dried Ancho chile (seeded, soaked, and pureed), 1 Tablespoon dutched cocoa,  1 cup unsalted beef broth, lots of Penzy's chili powder and cumin - about a palmful each, salt and pepper.

All of that will simmer in the crock pot until this evening. Then I will freeze it. Thursday night I will take it out to thaw and reheat it Friday to serve at a school potluck.

You forgot cigar ashes.  It's just not real chili without cigar ashes.  Other than that, it sounds great!

          Turkey Buffalo mac and cheese,

Not your mommas mac and cheese. Pretty complex and hard to stop eating it.  Some of the ingredients include wild turkey, butter, onions, garlic, hot sauce, whole milk, heavy cream, dry mustard, cheddar cheese, sour cream, blue cheese and bread crumbs.

Ready for the oven part,thumbnail_0422181358.jpg Out of the Oven to cool a bit,thumbnail_0422181440.jpg

Plated up and ready to eat with a side of morels :) ,thumbnail_0422181452.jpg

Have you seen me lately?    Try to limit my intake. I could of went for seconds and thirds but did not this time. Besides  Mrs. BilletHead keeps it worked off of me. I did eat a bierock this morning cold. I think they are just as good that way,

Glad to have another bierock lover out there. Now, let’s get you into  shepherd’s pie. Meat and taters and gravy. How can that not be good??

Good looking stuff! Haven't done much cooking lately. Made some grilled cheese for lunch before or hike. Companion Bread, 2 slices of Muenster, and a light smear of Dukes Mayo on the outside, before grilling. Turned out perfect. Wife & I spotted a few morels and the kids got a few too. Maybe a Lb, but enough for a side dish tomorrow. Looks a bit bare in the woods, should get better if it warms up a tad.

No, but it sounds really good.

I haven't seen it on a menu, but I'm sure it is. The wife and I went to a Huddle House one time and they had the option to put chili on hashbrowns. We did. We loved it. Sometime later at home, it struck me one morning to add chili to my omelette. The rest is history in the Chiefs TeePee.
