Odd ball time.

Holy cow! Smoked pickles are freaking awesome!
I smoked these about 45 minutes or so. You can't really tell by the pic, but they started turning and were just starting to dry out.
So I pulled them. I let them cool just a second and tried one. This is a pickle game changer! I can think of a ton of applications this will work great in.
I put the rest in a sandwich bag will see how well an over night stay in the fridge does.
I will definitely be doing this again!

We put potatoes in our smoker at camp.  No pre work done.  Just smoke long and slow.  They were flat amazing. Gonna have to try the pickles next outing.

Have not tried smoking pickles or potatoes but s/b easy enough when doing something else. Gonna try both. Worst case, out a jar of pickles, and a sack of potatoes, but probably not.

Not weird at all. I'm in the same boat. Bought some pickle popsicle one time. Good but way too salty. I'm also a fan of the S&V!! The most pungent I ever have was during a short stint when I lived in Las Vegas around 1990. There was a company, Vegas Chips, that made a S&V chip that the vinegar would burn your  tongue! That was the first ever S&V chip I had even heard of. Then a bit later Frito-Lay came out with their version. After eating the Vegas Chips, it was so lame, I never bought another bag!

Man, I love pickles too. And pickled stuff. Cukes, peppers, dilly beans, giardiniera, cauliflower, beets, peppadew.

Kathy's got a grandparent of a student that brings her good old fashioned lime pickles that have some jalapeno in there. Man, those things are outstanding. Ever have lime pickles? Super crispy -- quite a different texture and color than other of cucumber pickles. I've been bugging her to ask grandpa Bill for some of his 'Bill's Dills', or the recipe, before school gets out, but no connection yet. May try to make some this summer.

Not everything I try works either.

If not willing to fail, you will never learn new things. If you don't like it toss it, then try again. Mess up a few, add a T's of salt instead of t's, etc.
