Wow, even the fireworks are awesome. All I am doing is trying to rescue my strawberry patch from a weed invasion and grilling some dogs and brats.  Maybe I will put a couple roasts into the smoker, don't want to loose my man card on the 4th of July.  Back issues are plaguing me today, every thing may get are tylenol glaze!

Those are crated steel mortar tubes.  We had a over a 1000 people in our hood last night for the party.  We do it every July 3rd.

If there's anything better on the 4th of July than BBQ pork steaks, somebody needs to tell me what it is.  I mean other than a 45 day dry aged steak of course.

              Midmorning snack or brunch ,

  Making bacon jalapeno and cream cheese wantons,    Pretty good!

   Then we fried fish in a spicy batter coating for po'boy sammiches,  .

        Pretty good and easy eats for our fourth including vine ripened sliced tomatoes from the BilletHead garden. Maters are coming in,

Well I forgot my wife and daughter were headed to an all day concert in KS, (genius plant, all day concert, in KS in July but I digress),  too many leftovers to smoke a couple roasts for just mom and i, so in order to maintain my man card I found a couple old cans of whop biscuits in the bottom of the fridge and thought I aint gonna fire up the oven and heat up the house, so why not try the grill.  First batch was a true learning experience, way too much heat, burned to a crisp.  Second attempt with only the off side lit, and no fire directly under is looking better.  Remains to be seen how it turns out. Oh and am using a silicone sheet under them.

The 4th is the best holiday of the year!!!!

Beef pork chicken fish veggies, whatever.
