NOLA is for sure one of my favorite cities to visit.  You can got some good cooking at the gas stations down der.

That was one of my favorite things about NO, you just never knew where you would find some fabulous food, might be a big ole pot of it summering at the gas station or being served out of the back of a truck.  And I never tired of an older Louisiana gal calling me honey, darlin, sweety, or babe  when I was there.  Some great food and great peole too.  Dang now I want to make a pot of jambalaya and put a nice fried fish fillet on top of each bowl.

 Since I was on home duty today, I opted to go back to basics. Fried chicken, (thighs), mashed taters (instant ) milk gravy, and some Brussels sprouts cause my wife loves them and they aint bad, even mom will eat them.

I guess I missed your invite.  I love fried chicken.  Girls were gone last night.  3 eggs over easy and two pieces of bacon.

Love fried chicken too, but haven;t made it in a loooong time. 

Rotisserie chicken, roasted sweet potatoes and some corn last night. Made a quick stock with the chicken spare parts then thickened it a bit, added a bit up cold butter making a light sauce.

A couple others from the last few weeks:

Cioppino with scallops, shrimp and flounder

Spent a weekend in the Flint Hills a few weeks back at B&B we like. They do an outstanding job on the breakfasts. Breakfast pizza with a thin crust, just a little sausage gravy, eggs, sausage, mushrooms, peppers, cheese and sage.

Buttery biscuit with just a little crunch on the bottom. Perfect consistency on the gravy and the sausage was small pieces. Just a little heat. Really good.
