I'll try:

No country for old men

The Deer Hunter

Lonesome Dove

Fargo

The Big Lebowski.............

So three are Coen Bros.

Bump.

Lonesome Dove was outstanding. Been scratching my head looking for books to read and that one came to mind. I read it probably 25 years ago, and never read any of the others. May do that, and watch the movie again.

Watched Treasure of the Sierra Madre the other night. darn. I have African Queen DVD from Netflix waiting to be watched. Anyone else a fan of the "Special Features" on DVDs? I really love that stuff but fear it's gonna go bye-bye as we stream more.

Don't think it would make anyone's Top 5 list but I saw this movie with one of my daughters a couple of months ago. Made in New Zealand and is a bit quirky but still an enjoyable film.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople

Deer Hunter creeps me out. I remember Sideways now that you mention it. I remember it as pretty good.

This thread is suffering from an excess of testosterone. May I suggest a subset? Musicals.

Not necessarily in order:

Holiday Inn

Gigi

Cabaret

Chicago

Momma Mia

Laugh if you will, but the genre has endured ever since talkies. Anyone else willing to admit they know the words?

The only one I remember the words to is The Sound of Music.
