I have been on a old movies kick and have been looking at old reboots. For example I like Fredric March as Mr Hyde more so than Spencer Tracy. I still haven't seen John Barrymore's version. Mitch f 1
joeD Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 "Baby Driver" is definitely worth seeing, for the music alone. "Brighton Rock" by Queen? Yessir. "Hocus Pocus" by Focus? Bingo. Sometimes a diversion is what I want. Mitch f 1

Cormac McCarthey who also wrote 'No country for old men' and 'The Road' was the author. My personal preference as far as the books would be for those two ahead of 'All the pretty horses.'. Cormac McCarthey is my favorite author. The pictures he paints of Appalachia amaze me -- but all of the un-translated Spanish.......
Johnsfolly Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Been watching an old movie this evening. Has the line "They call me Mr. Tibbs!!" Any thoughts! ness 1

Get them on Netflix DVD or catch them on TMC for the most part. Love the special features some DVDs have, or the commentary on TMC. I've probably made my way through about half. Johnsfolly 1 John
Johnsfolly Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 I either get on genre kicks like every October I start DVRing old horror movies or go after movies with certain actors. I have been watching Sydney Portier movies lately. Does not help that TCM programming matches my mindset☺. Then like Ness I will try to get through some of those lists. We did watch a classic comedy this week. Had the infamous "Picking out a Thermos" song. Also had lines like "Die gaspumper!" "These cans are defective!""Waiter there are snails on her plate!" ness and Mitch f 2

Mitch f Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 When Steve Martin first came out, he was the hippest dude ever. He had the comedy world by the tail and was co-hosting on SNL often. Then he jumped the shark...... I wonder if he cringes when he looks back? 😂 Johnsfolly 1 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
