dtrs5kprs Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Zoom got the under 10 thing going with the 9ct bags of lizards. Went down from there once they figured out folks would still buy the baits.
Champ188 Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I miss Ditto worms. Caught a lot of fish over the years flipping a Baby Gator Tail in grape/powder blue tail, electric blue, fire 'n ice, etc. Dewayne French 1

Ham Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 The worms of yester year seemed to really favor durability over functionality. That dittio worm seemed really tough to me. Man do I ever wish I was flipping paddletail worms to Roseau cane down at Venice. It can be so good. Like 100 fish a day good. Ham Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 That company was local when I lived in West Monroe, La so of course I fished them, but I was more fond of the ones out of Florida. Maybe Zetabait. I aslo had some Gambler ones I liked and Rob Kilby had a paddletail that I really liked. I fished thru 2 bags of Red Shad (15 or 18 count bags) in a day down at Venice. I was catching 3 of 4 fish per worm. It was about as good a day as I can ever remember. Of course, I've had some really great days since moving up here too. None of the bass were over 4 pounds, but a lot of 14-18 inch marsh bass. It was SWEET! Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Ham Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I think they were JawTecs. I still have some of the lizards in the original packaging somewhere. I of course got the paddletails off a close out table and once they were gone, they were gone. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
dtrs5kprs Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 The Zetabait Din-A-Ling style paddletail is still available from Producto. They also make a couple of 4" worms that are very good on a shakey head. The 4" Spring Worm, and the 4" version of the old Tournament Worm. Ham 1

You are the Rain Man of the OA Forums...in a good way. How many toothpicks did I just dump on the ground?
abkeenan Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 I think in this case Zoom is again copying the competition, as in, if they sell 6 in their pack, so will we. One thing I will give Strike King credit for is they do a nice job of packaging their baits. They do indeed. The rage craws and stuff are in the clam shell packaging which keeps them uniform and intact. Some of the Zoom stuff you get the pack, open it and you have multiple baits kinked, bent or screwed up. Only problem with the clam shell packaging is storing them is a PITA sorta.
