Ham Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 I'm sure it is an added bonus that folks get to try before they buy the better stuff. A lot of times I wish I could do that with rods before buying them. I'm sure it is a Mutally benefiting relationship between Mr Babler and Falcon. I love my Cara T7 6'10" MH bait caster. It's a very good stick for a lot of my my fishing. I have a lot of interest in the jerkbait Rod Mark was talking about. Truth be told there are a lot of great rods being build these days. Falcons are in that group. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Bill Babler Posted April 13, 2015 Author Posted April 13, 2015 The Bucoo and the Cara T7 use completely different blanks. Although the rods are 100% manufactured in the US the rods are completely different. All of the components are different from the reel seat to the grips and handles to the eyes. The T7 uses extreme top of the line components and the Bucoo is a price product that preforms fantastic within its capabilities. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Champ188 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 I dont think its the rods....lol ur a fishing guide and know that lake better than anyone. Youd catch more fish on an ugly stick than most would on a loomis. Im sure falcon appreciates it though! One of the best full-time guides on the lake comes on here and gives specific fish locations/depths/lures, etc. --- and even good info from fellow guides --- and someone has to take a potshot because he describes the tackle he's using. What the heck? High quality, well-maintained tackle can make all the difference in the world in catching a big bunch of fish or going home frustrated. Just hope the information well doesn't dry up someday because the guys providing it get tired of being sniped at. Sac River Jim, dpenny, Daryk Campbell Sr and 2 others 5
Ham Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Plus, it's more enjoyable to me to fish with quality gear. I don't own Shimano Stellas nor G.Loomis NRX rods, but I do buy quality rods and reels. They in general are lighter and perform better than less expensive rods and rees. This makes for a more enjoyable day on the water in my experience anyway. Guest Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 I just compared the diameter of the 5# Maxima to other lines, its itty bitty! I might have to give it a try. Maxima Ultragreen Line Line Diameter 6lb 8lb 10lb 12lb Millimeter .229 .254 .305 .330 Inches .009 .010 .012 .013 Yo-Zuri Hybrid Fishing Line Smoke Line Diameter 4lb 6lb 8lb 10lb Millimeters .235 .263 .283 .308 Inches .009 .010 .011 .012
Members JacobW Posted April 13, 2015 Members Posted April 13, 2015 T7 is their high end all graphite rod with alconite low rider guides. Basically just a lot lighter and more sensitive blank that is one of the very few rods that I believe is 100 percent graphite. Its just a whole different mouse trap.

And by the way, reading your post I see that you completely read my blog, and I appreciate it. There was quite a bit of really good current lake wide info in there. Kind of took it as a compliment. But, here are my thoughts; Yes, maybe I can catch them, used to just use a string around my finger when I was a kid growing up at our resort on Lake OZ. That is not what the information was presented for. No, you should not "Fire Sale Your Tackle." When you get ready to upgrade, take a look at what I provide for my clients and fish myself. I pull the same rods from the rack in the garage or from the Phoenix lockers for either my personal use or that of my clients. This is my profession, and I strive to learn something everyday. I have accumulated a wealth of information from this site and everyone that provides info. here. My main concern in this business and believe you me it is a very demanding business, mother nature is your adversary and she can be a very harsh mistress. I search for bites, and bites alone. Bites are my livelihood. I want one more bite for my clients than I gave them the day before, I want 1 more bite than they have ever had while fishing this lake. The product of more bites are more opportunities to catch fish. Everything that is in my power to do to generate one more bite is what I strive for. There is not the new best thing, fishing and fishing correctly is a product of a multitude of small things. Little things that generate opportunities for greater success. My clients do not fish everyday, they need me to provide them the means to be as successful as they can be in a limited amount of time. My equipment is a very important piece of this multi-piece puzzle. Equipment performance and the ability to deliver baits and fish them in the correct and appropriate manner for the best success is the backbone of my guide service. If my equipment can generate just 2 bites per day per person over the course of a fishing year, that is between 1,000 and 1,500 extra chances my clients have to be successful. If they can convert those chances at even a 50 percent rate that is 500 more bass to the boat. Don't know any of us that would not like to catch 500 more fish this year. That is why I use the best equipment that I feel I can purchase, for just another bite I may not have gotten without it. Bill Babler Posted April 13, 2015 Author Posted April 13, 2015 Trophy the 5# Maxima Ultra Green is .224 and .008. It has absolutely no memory, winds and lays completely flat on the Stradic and the Daiwa Ballistic, and throws a bait with the proper rod to places, " Man has failed to Conquer." Paired with these quality reels and their drag systems and the ability of the rods to absorb the shock of lightning fast fish runs right at the boat, this system is my favorite for lite line finesse fishing with grubs and small soft plastics. ie the Varm. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

I will definitley give it a try, prolly on my bobby garlands for crappie. the 8lb yozuri over powers my bobby garlands anyway, I need to go smaller to get better action. thanks Your're to blame for the Cara & stradics in my boat! Lol theyre absolutely the best combos I've ever owned. Maybe pricey, but I usually get 1 really nice gift per year & its typically another Falcon. So far, Im up to 6 Falcons, Lowriders & Caras
Guest Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 btw the Faclon Head Turner is hands down my favorite heavy action jig rod. Its stout & lightweight, perfect for 20lb floro & heavy cover. Also doubles as a good swing head rod, carolina rig & frog rod.
