Tatsu is second mortgage expensive. Went through about 1800 yds of fluoro since 4/12. That would hurt with Tatsu.

You two enjoy the rest of your trip.

Buy tatsu or Sunline shooter and you won't go through as much line. I'm not sure how they act on spinning reels though. Fishing around boat docks on grand though that line is extremely abrasion resistant and I use lots less because of it.

I'm finally going to give fluorocarbon a try on my spinning reels. Bought some of the Cabela's 100% FC in 6-pound test last night because I really like it on my casting reels. Whoever makes it for them does a good job. I'm going to try the suggestion I saw here on spooling up halfway, applying Real Magic, then finish filling the spool and applying again. We'll see how it goes.

Lol, 75 yards of Nano on top of mono will last over a year of real steady fishing. Heck, you can use InvisX 6 lb for your leader if you want to.

Champ - I have been using Real Magic for a couple of years now when I re-spool or an occasional squirt on a reel that I haven't used in some time and I really can see the difference as there is not as much if any "looping" especially on the spinning reels

The abrasion is not a big deal with Invizx. I worry about any line after it has been pulled hard over the roller by a fish running drag.

Super lines are just not for me. Yoda had a green lightsaber and Obi Wan had a blue one. Not sure how anyone fishes braid or nano in wind without going bug nuts.

To each his own. I usually cuss the wind like everybody else, but smile when I set the hook and wind yet another Ned rig fish in.

I fish the same direction the wind is blowing using a drift sock. The drift sock keeps boat speed down and give a pivot point to adjust boat position. I keep my rod tip down. I will occassionlly lay the line in the surface of the water itself watching for any sign of a strike and do a small lift ocassionally.

Braid on the spinning reels works way better IMO. That FC would be great as a leader on the end of 10 lb power pro or spider wire. Very little trouble with twist up, long casting, very tough and long lasting with no memory. Best move I have ever made on my spinning rigs. Light braid on spinning reels is awesome.

Hey Ham, drift socks are archaic. You should get Power Poles and use them to slow your drift. They even make paddles for them designed just for that purpose. How cool would that be? I bet if you bought two you could get some kind of discount on a jersey.

Drift sock was a life saver last Saturday. Finally got so strong that I actually tied up to a tree and fished the area methodically with the Ned. Worked great, but there was some cussing at the wind going on. Getting that braid down on the water in a crosswind is crucial. Keeping that rod tip in the water is also important in the crosswind.

If you can fish straight downwind or upwind, it is just better.

I believe there's a new regulation in place that does not allow the wind to blow at a bank. Now it may only blow down one.

Have thought about a sock, but with all that wind the last few days I might have ended up parasailing with it.
