mixermarkb Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Got on the water a little after 9 at Coffman, fished til 6pm, and never left the gravois arm. Breezy, with clouds and the threat of rain that never really happened in any real way. Fish were shallow, biting topwater walking baits in very clear water. I kind of thought I was back on Bull Shoals at times. Lots of fish on beds. Flat gravel banks were the key, all day bite. I'm not sure how many I caught. Lots. No scales with me, but best 5 were 20", a matched pair of 18", and a matched pair of 16". I had a few things tied on, but they kept hitting the topwater so I kept throwing it. I am officially worn out. Bass thumb and sore arm. Get out there while you can guys, it's on. Jbrant, Seth, Ham and 2 others 5
96 CHAMP Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Is the water as clear as you have posted, was wandering, hey wrench can you confirm that, if so with these fronts coming in I may have to head down this weekend, thanks
Old plug Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I do not know kuch about up at Gravois Mills but other than that most of the gravois is crystal clearcto about 6 ft.
WeekendWarrior Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Lake is pretty clear everywhere right now, can see 4 to 6 foot down at 28 mm at house and have been in glaize and even clear there as well so I would say the gravois would be pretty darn clear in there but have not been in there last couple weeks
96 CHAMP Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 i called a buddie of mine and he was down yesterday and he said the same thing, so thanks alot for the info and good fishing to yas
mixermarkb Posted May 7, 2015 Author Posted May 7, 2015 Lol, I don't BS guys. I fished several creeks in the Gravois arm, and caught fish pretty much everywhere I went. I would say you could see bottom in at least 6, maybe as many as 10 in places.
Old plug Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 96 Champ---- missedthat day. I was up in Jeff city having some heart test done. Took beter part of the day. After reading your post I went out about 3 pm with a Sara spook puppie. I caught several fish but only twp keepers before I got scared off the water about 4:30. It was not much fun down here today. About every other cast the spook would pick up some slop off the trees. I did not get one fish off a fravel flat they were all in back of docks on medium dropping banks. I got some spawning activity trying to get started in back of my dock. That fish is clearing a spot between flat rocks that has a bit of gravel in it. the bed must be down there 5 ft at least. I usually have one liek the every year.

Went down to dock last week seeing if the crappie were there and every cast would have some of those string beans on the lure and gave up.
