5bites Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 You're onto my secret. I fish in my golf caps and play golf in my fishing caps. Well there's your problem right there. Just fish. That's it. I realize you live in the land of spotted bass and golf courses but still you should know better. Champ188 1
SplitG2 Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Love my Cobra irons although I'm starting to get a touch of Ping fever. And yes sir, we were on the lower end. Launched at Old 86. The nap was enjoyed in the back of Beardsley. The nap was likely a better option anyway. There are no fish in Beardsley..... Champ188 1
Riverwhy Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 How about gluing the Ned worm to the jighead and then rigging the hook weedless? This reduces the need for a weedless hook. I love Dave's jigheads but I can not get any messages to go thru so I'm looking for different options.

Shoot me an email at dtrs5kprs@yahoo.com. I do exactly that with a shakey head and the full size worm. The trouble with the cut stick is you can't find a hook with the right gap, in the right size to make it work. Just too much worm to punch through. Even with a 4/0 EWG in a shakey head penetration can be sketchy.
Champ188 Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 The nap was likely a better option anyway. There are no fish in Beardsley..... Terrible, awful, no-good place to fish. I was only in there to get out of the storms. I went screaming out of there fast as I could go after the storm passed. Ham 1

The solo 2 slip dock with the green roof is us. One of these days we'll cross paths. Champ188 1

Thought I saw your Ranger on my computer screen using my live security monitor I have placed 60 feet up in an Oak Tree at the house so I can survey unwarranted boat activity in my creek. I had to turn up the dial on the strong wind, rain and thunderclap machine to get you outta there. Pesky Razorback folk. Still thinking of solutions how to get Mr. Alex Heitman out of there but he is a tough nut to crack. Muddy Water, Champ188 and techo 3
m&m Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 You guys crack me up!! I can just visualize the camera in the tree, rain machine and other contraptions to ward off would be fishermen. lol
Donna G Posted May 15, 2015 Author Posted May 15, 2015 Thanks for the update Donna. Is Champ trying to figure out how to put an arm, blade and skirt on the little rig? I wouldn't put it past him. lol Donna Gilzow Bella Vista, Arkansas The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. --John Buchan, 1915
Donna G Posted May 15, 2015 Author Posted May 15, 2015 The ladies always claim the bench seat during a storm. Life jacket is not bad. A worm binder works well too. No bench seat in our boat and that was MY life jacket Champ stole for his pillow. I wanted to get back to fishing too bad to sleep anyway. Wandered around the slips with my Ned rod. Some little bites, but I was really surprised at how few, and that I didn't hook up.
