The water isn't coming off the top of the lake - but 10-15 feet down? At least that deep.

How muddy might that be for the next few days that is what I want to know. I am not a trout fisherman and will be going at it pretty much with my moving water bass tactics.

I don't think it will be muddy at all, that's fairly clear water coming over the dam. However with the water running that hard it will stir up plenty of sediment off the bottom. If you going to throw jerkbaits like bass fishing I think 6 pound line is plenty fine, jigs I would throw 4 or 2. That much running water in my opinion allows you to step up your line size one size and if there is cloud cover or any kind of chop on the water that helps a lot also. I throw 6 on my jerkbaits all the time and 2 on my jigs 90% of the time whether there is water running or not. On a sunny day with no chop i usually add a 7x tippet of fluorocarbon to my 2 pound test. Just my 2 cents. Good luck this weekend.

The only times I've seen Taney "muddy" is when Branson or the lake gets a very hard rain and water runs in from the various creeks, the water generating or water coming over the flood gates actually flushes that muddy water out.

I wouldn't be afraid to use 8 or 10lb in good flurocarbon. I use it all the time on the current river when throwing jerkbaits. And when I say jerkbaits I use the full size floating rogue with weighted lead strips. This helps keep the bait down in current and just enough to slowly rise.

Well thanks I will more than likely be be using bass type baits. of various colors. How much I fish depends on what chasing around with my 5 and 3 yr old gand daughters take out of me. They will start on mimi and Papa even before their parents are out of bed.
