Bill Babler Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Have not had the opportunity to get up my beloved White River. Beck and I have been guiding together most of two weeks straight now and we have been fishing Rice Camp to Maybe no further up than point 19. We have gotten a topwater bite most everyday, and they have all been on extremely flat gravel. Lots of white bass and regular basses up close on these points. Topwater deal has been over most mornings, even with the clouds by 7 or 7:30. These have not been schooling or chasing fish, we just kind of have been fishing where they should be. Not had time to post pictures, but we have had some very nice LM and Jaws, up to 5.5 Catching lots of the LM on the Dixie Jet. Seems to me it has been way better than a Fin and just about even with the Spook. Great Trip Quill and Muddy. Muddy Water 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Alex Heitman Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Nice report. Not bad at all. I was down this past weekend after the huge rains and only caught a couple on top water but we did not get out early enough. I was with family a lot and didn't get out until after 7 most mornings. Fishing was tough to figure out. Tough to find lots of numbers for us but we did find quality fish. Pretty much junked fished a lot. We found the better fish by flipping the flooded brush, bushes, and willows in the dam area. Another key was laydowns that extended out from the bank. I threw a top water all through it to and only managed one fish doing that. The best bite was on a big 8 inch lizard on a stand up head and a big senko. Did catch some big SM on the puke tube. Had one I would say well over 5 that came off by the boat. Never could catch up to her. We didn't catch lots of fish but we had over 15 lbs or more everyday we were there. It seemed like when we left Sunday that bite up shallow was getting a lot better. I see the lake level is dropping so it is probably over now.

If I fished there, that's what I would do. I catch a lot of heavy bass on BS flipping and pitching.. but most of the guys I know who fish Bull don't /won't flip.
Bill Babler Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Spoke to several really good brush flippers this past week, including Kelley Powers. He says it is not the deal. He can catch a few but just not the quality he needs. This water is dropping like a rock. I was out at 5;30 this morning, and it was tough. We ended the day with 17 fish with 7 keeps, but only had two on a top water and another 2 blow ups. All our fish came on the Dixie Jet and drop shot. I believe Beck had just about the same deal, with the Jet. Muddy Water and dtrs5kprs 2 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

I hit some bushes and sawdust in the right kind of places, with as much as 7-9' of water in them, with not much to show for it. Decided it was not worth running all over looking for more of the same, when we could catch them letting the "self licking ice cream cone" do all the work for us. Champ188 1
