Planned to put a consolidated report up because I expected things to be pretty much the same each day...until today.

We have been doing pretty well fishing more or less on the old bank line, about 4'-8'. Both shorts and better fish had been there, out in front of the bushes, but not so much in them. Mix of all the basic 3, no meanies so far.

Today something changed up. Not going to spend a lot of time on the why factor, sometimes fish are just fish and do what they want. We only caught shorts today on the old bank line, better fish were all 15-30' deep, and often scattered across an area. All on the little rig, fished at full stop. Swimming it or shaking it draws the itty bitty brown fish almost immediately. We have caught some nice spots on the initial drop over brush piles.

No doubt there are other ways to catch them. Would probably be flipping if the kiddos were not in the back, but that is not really a bite for them. Decent numbers, and we are averaging 6 or 7 keepers in about 6 hours on the water. Did play with the Ned on some ultralights with braid. Lot of fun, except for the braid. Far more line issues with that than with straight fluoro, but not another good option on the little reels.

Water is clearing, we had some 9' visibility, and temps jumped 3 degrees before we got it dry at 230. In the 75 range on one graph, and 73 on the other. Call it 74.

On medium light or light power spinning gear I like 4lb mono but for my medium and med heavy power stuff I use 10/2 braid and 6lb fluoro leader. Ive never once been able to spool fluoro on a spinning realn

Good report, Dave. And yes, some days fish just do what they want. I suppose it keeps us from getting cockier than we already are. :)
