I think we should all be fine with guys who follows game regulations. Our true beef should be with the guys who don't......short fish, over the limit, multiple limits in one day, illegal methods, etc. Those are the true thieves of our precious resource.

Personally, I'm not keeping any black bass now or any time soon. That said, I'd rather see somebody keeping 50 fish that barely qualify as "keepers" than 1 trophy fish.

Finally, somebody else that see's it from my point of view. That's how I look at ALL species of fish when it comes to keeping them. This is an especially hot topic among catfishermen. Most of the serious catfish anglers throw back anything over 10 pounds. I'd bet most of the guys crying foul about a guy cleaning some bass wouldn't blink an eye at somebody putting a knfie to a big catifsh though........... :redcard:

Back in my blue cat fishing days, I would turn loose the bigger ones, they just aren't as good to eat as the smaller ones.

The thing about catfish is they are not the draw that bass are. How many people come to TR to catch catfish? How many come to catch bass? You could take all the catfishers, crappie chasers, walleye catchers and bream chasers, add them together, and they won't be but a fraction of the number of people chasing bass. There's a lot of us chasing bass, and if we want good bass fishing in the future, then we need to be careful as to how many we keep.

Nothing wrong with a reasonable number of bass being kept, but let's not overdo it.

Those crappie guys must be well camouflaged because I just don't see them. Around spawn time they are out there for sure, but I'd say I see 10 guys out bass fishing for every crappie fisherman.

Could be they are out at night I suppose.

perhaps not here, but on a national level, there are way more pan fisherman than bass chasers, and yes, the spring is when they are out in force. but, a whole lot of pan fishing goes on from the bank and docks.

As a strictly bank fisherman now since I lost what I had.

I really got to laugh at alot of this, so the guy kept some fish.

If I get lucky enough to catch something legally to eat, I am more than likely going to keep it.

A few of ya are spoiled, way to 'by the book'.

And I have been fishing TR since the 70's myself. Do miss my darn boat lol.
