A couple comments on population sampling. When sampling, consistency is critical, samples are not taken randomly all over the lake. Locatons are selected and sampled as nearly as possible at the American time/conditions to get an overall trend of the population dynamics. If conditions are drastically different you don't use that data lest it skew the overall data. Also thing like creel survey results provide data that is utilized. Knowing and having assisted a couple of biologists I will say to a person they have been very dedicated to their job, they fish, they know the lake and population dynamics, but you may have noticed that when a bad reproduction year happens there is nothing they can do.

mjk86, any chance you want to share those points and dock locations? lol

Mike

You can see every spot I fish except 2 from the kcity bridge. The other 2 are within a mile of it.

And thank you, Flysmallie, for showing your true colors. Nearly half a million words in the dictionary and you have to resort to profanity. Classy. Or is that i-classy?

If you don't like this thread, go to another. You have that freedom, just like I have the freedom to say I don't support the killing of bass.

And for those of you who continue to say that us C&R posters are trying to take away the man's right to keep fish, READ OUR POSTS. We have made it, unmistakeably clear that he has the right to do as he wishes within the law. We just happen to believe that as sportsmen, we should rise above the law to a higher plane of concern for the fish that we spend so much time, energy and money chasing.

We are not under any impression that all of you are going to catch and release. But neither are we going to stop stating our convictions that as long as we have a lake that does not receive supplemental stockings of bass, we should do everything within our control to help them reproduce on their own. And that begins with not cutting the sides off prime brood fish.

Practice what you preach. If you don' t like it, go somewhere else, criticizing about it only causes hard feelings. Maybe you should choose your words better, instead of criticizing, use all those words you know for suggestions. It's not a coincidence you get singled out for criticizing...just something to ponder

You know, iclass, you are right. I do have a way of coming across as critical when that's not my intention. I'll work harder on that.

Really don't think you're a bad guy, these forums aren't the place to form opinions on someone personally. Pretty sure we know many of the same people in the Hot Springs area, if you weren't a good dude those folks wouldn't like you. Typed words get read differently by everyone.

Think it maybe snowing around the devil...both you and I admitting wrong in the same thread...lol

What gets more pressure than Table Rock? I want to avoid that lake.

LOZ, Mozingo, Smithville, in state.

And yep, I am OK with saying it is wrong to string up two limits of bass. Nothing good will come of that behavior.

Grand, 7 Days/week.

Yep this exactly. And it kicks out more and heavier bags. Look back through my posts (I believe in this same thread) about comparing it to table rock. I love table rock though. Today it's a freakin zoo around eagle rock though. I assume the holiday island traffic is up here due to the trash in the river. If I was driving like the lake lice was I could have killed two jet skiers, and a family on a pontoon pulling a kid all in a one mile run back to put it on the trailer. The ramp was a disaster itself. I need to retire so I can fish during the week.
