Wow yeah I'd say that's taking things Alittle far. I don't like getting nosed out of a spot. But come on. That'll probably keep that kid from ever wanting to hit the lake fishing with his dad ever again. Hope not but I know mine wouldnt.

I have never had a problem on TR but I don't get to fish it as much as you guys that live down there, but I had a experience at LOZ a few years back, The wife and I were at one of my favorite crappie spots fishing, it is a spot where everyone drifts by usually due to the wind but if you stay on the TM you can have a great time, this guy and wife in a john boat pulls up like I am his best friend , gets up and drops anchor close enough where I could almost step into his boat!!! I did good for about 2 minutes and blew evil on him as politely as I could, he gets up, pulls anchor and takes off, the wife and I looked at each other in amazement, I think this guys problem was he is just a idiot. Lol

There are certainly a good many out there who just don't know any better. You can tell if that's the case fairly quick by their actions. And then there are those who just don't give a dang. You can also identify them pretty fast --- again by their actions.

Kinda a different experience, but i was diving norfork once. Im underwater. My brother is pretty much above me in the pontoon with dive flags all over it. Also a anchored flag 100 yards up and a 100 yards down stream. about the time i came up some dude comes rolling in as hard as his pontoon would go to ask my brother where the marine was or somthing to that nature. I came up to my brother flipping out on him. Which i think was 100% warranted. We could have surfaced anywhere in that stretch. Luckily we were about 20 yards away... The guys sped of and shook his head like we were the assholes. Being a diver, if i see a flag i always steer soooo far clear of the flag. no telling where the diver may be it is easy to get turned around down there....I think this was a case of a older guy getting a boat and not knowing the Laws of the water. but after the scolding my brother gave him, and asking him if he new what a dive flag looked like. I really bet he learned a lesson. So sometimes i think giving someone a piece of mind is good. Pulling in front of someone fishing is one thing, but when there are divers down it changes things. I think everyone should have to taker to boaters safety course .. I dont think age should have anything to do with it....I know most of us dont need it but i would be happy to take it to keep a few people from getting hurt or possibly killed...I have only dove for a few years but my bro said he has had this happen an awful lot....

.

So now days when it is just the 2 of us instead of diving with a buddy like the book says to do, one of us usually stays on the boat and drift around and follow the bubbles of the diver. I feel a lot more comfortable doing it that way....The buddy diving never has made a lot of sense to me anyhow. When we both drop down with spearguns depending on the visibility, it is easy to lose your buddy and nothing makes your butt pucker like the sound of a speargun going off when you have lost your buddy

I have no problem with boater safety for every boat operator, but on the flip side we require driver's license testing and there are still plenty of thoughtless dangerous drivers.

I've been cut in on plenty on the lake, but I fish a lot and overall it's no big deal. I've had PWC's get 20 feet (yes feet) from my stationary boat while their at WOT. I've left a spot because a tuber was being drug across barely submerged timber. I didn't leave because they bothered my fishing, but because I didn't want to be there when the unthinkable happened. I consider myself considerate and careful and I stay clear of other fisherman on a point and won't get in front of them on a bank. I yeild to other boats when on plane, I stay way away from docks when on plane, and I stear clear of stationary boats when on plane. But I had an experience once during a tournament where I was on one side of a dock and another boat was on the oppisite side of a dock two docks away. We were aware they were there but they were heading away from us. There was at least 100 yards and two docks between us. My father n law caught a good fish. I guess they heard "get the net". They trolled over and chewed our hind ends for fishng their spot. My father n law reached in the livewell, retrieved the bass, and threw the bass at them and said this must be theirs then. I loved the response (although it wasn't so helpful in the scheme of the tournament). The didn't say anything and trolled back to their original location. I guess I share this to bring to light that some folks are rude and inconsiderate for sure when they cut in 20 yards or less, but there are also people that think they own an entire cove. Thankfully a majority of the people get it. Just do your part and let the rest roll off your back, you'll be happier in the end.

I'd like to thank my FUTURE sponsers: Falcon Rods, Jewel Bait Co, and Seagar
