Not sure what the big argument is about. If you want to use the Ned then do it. If you don't then don't. Who cares if someone likes it or hates it? Chevy or Ford? No one wins the argument. Some of ya just have the need to believe that only your opinion matters. Ned is just another tool in the box. Use it or don't.Seems like some testosterone poisoning around here. :have-a-nice-day:

Exactly. I've provided info on it because while not new in concept, it is new to many anglers raised on KVD and other power techniques. Sort of like showing folks there is another path that could be walked.

Beyond that fish what you like. I used to fish with a guy who threw buzzbaits all freaking day, just because he liked to watch them run. It matters not, provided you can live with what you do, or do not catch.

That's why the "how many tournaments has it won" question gets old. Especially when asked by people that could care less about tournaments any other time.

Most of my fishing is done with the best 5 mindset but a lot of time it's more about what you are doing to catch them then actually catching them. That's what keeps fishing fun. Especially if my kids are in the boat. Sometimes I'm just trying to teach them something to better their fishing for later rather than just catch as many as I can. Saturday at grand I could have flipped all day long and loved it but throwing cranks was what I wanted to do so we did it.

Another point proven. The "we" word. Used by the insecure to help them feel like everyone is on their side. Classic stuff here. I've noticed you do this quite a bit actually. Hmmmmmm

Insecure? About you?

You're right, classic stuff right there.

That's all well and good Dave. Just do me a favor and keep it quiet about the little z-man stuff you sent me, don't think the rivers could stand much of that action.

Did you throw some of it? Those two little deals are just dynamite. We caught gills, brown fish, you name it, on them.

Sorry we did not get together. Kids kept us running. Which they should have, it was their trip really. Guarantee Sunday is going to be steak night!

I'd think this thing would be a killer creek rig.

You might think so but really it just makes other fishermen mad.

Not yet. Too much water and too little time so far. They are on the the playlist though, trust me on that one.

AT TIMES, I absolutely will throw the Ned up there and have it swing on semi slack line so that i can feel the bite. I'm all about that thump. Many, many times though I throw the Ned out and let it fall on completely slack line. I watch the Nano as it falls. I'm watching for a tick or a directional change or for it to stop falling early.

If I get a clue from the line, I will take up some slack and set the hook.Sweep set.

Much of the time though I believe the fish see the bait fall down thru the water column and ease over and pick it up. I lift up and a fish has it. No need to rush, take up a little slack and sweep set. Fish on.

I play around with it. I vary depth, retrieve style, and color through out the day. i try to repeat what I get bit doing.
