The bashing is only relative to the ever increasing hype.

Some folks are easily impressed, others are less so.

Anytime anything related to fishing starts making its way into every conversation you are gonna have those that get sick of hearing about it and start verbally knocking it.

That's life. :)

My whole objection with the ned rig was the way it was presented as something new and meraclulious. When the developers knew very well it was not. I believe the whole deal on here was about selling that idea. Would be very easy to sell to a lot of gullable fishermen searching for the majic bullet. I do not understand or even believe it when I see some more experienced anglers on here tooting it . Make me wonder about their motives.

I do not like any attempt to try to push some product down my throat. Nothing in this world will make me decide against buying anything faster than some slick salesman that thinks I am a stooge. And thats just exactly how I feel about the Neg Rig.

First of all the Ned rig is not new by any means as it has been stated a million times on the forum. It was a good kept secret until a few years ago and people would just refuse to try and use something so small to catch bass. I was skeptical at first but after I tried it I definitely believe in it. It is my go to bait when corruptions are tough and bites are few and far between. By the way it is not like it is expensive at all to try. You can get a pack of worms for $3 and some jig heads for $4. Not breaking the bank by any means. Again it isn't a magic bait that will catch them every time. Just another tool. Also people say it can't catch big fish. My dad and I caught 3 fish over 6lbs on it this year and some smallmouth pushing 5 lbs on Table Rock. If you still don't want to try it then that's fine with me. More fish for us ?

I typically fish on Stockton. I first used the ned rig on my last 4 fishing trips. On May 19th, we caught 80 bass with 14 being keepers. The biggest was an 18 inch smallmouth. We went out on Memorial Day and caught 44 with 4 being keepers. On May 29th, we caught 53 with 8 being keepers. I then went put by myself on June 6 and caught 25 with 3 being keepers but I did lose a 4 to 5 pounder when it jumped and spit the hook. I'm not saying that the ned rig is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I have been very pleased with the results I have encountered.

Not really. Lots of baits catch shorts predominanly. The only controversial issue is the amount of hype that has been (purposely/intentionally) generated about it.
