skeeter Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Bill. It was that Dixie jet spoon. They were offended by you using a racist lure and were demonstrating. What did I miss ? I couldn't find the DJ spoons I just ordered as being available with the Stars and Bars on them....shucks ! :-) !! denjac 1
skeeter Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Been seeing more and more boats this size up in the White River arm of the lake. Campbell Point Marina offers slips up to 22x80 in size. It's only gonna get worse. Saw their new docks....incredible !! New Marina office is a full size, two-story house floating on the water... very nice but is it really needed ? Instead of vindictive, unreasonable "shoreline management plans" the COE needs to limit boat sizes. NOW, before it's too late. Flipn 1
Champ188 Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Skeeter, that would be sending money away. Big money. You know that's not gonna happen!
Fish24/7 Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Off the subject but we had spotted about a 60' to 65' long Cabin Cruiser going down the White River channel around 2 weeks ago throwing at least a 2 & 1/2 ' wake at medium speed. The boat (ship ? ) appeared to be a "Displacement Hull" design and we watched that wake hit two unfortunate fishermen's boat that were trying to fish a point about 50 yards from this Battleship's path. Thankfully, the angler running the trolling motor saw the wake approaching and probably heard it too because it was so high the top of the wake was "breaking" and curling over. He turned the bow of the boat into the wake and we could see the two of them bouncing up and down like they were on a see-saw in a playground as their boat rode the Cruiser's wake. It certainly would have broken over the gunwale of their boat and filled it with water had they not turned into it. ANYWAY, that "Queen Mary" was observed docked at Campbell Point Marina and belongs on the Great Lakes or the Ocean, not Table Rock. wonder if that's Morris's new yacht, lol last fall heard he was getting an 80 footer, and building a HUGE double decker dock on TR to park it in

Bill Babler Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Be totally surprised if it were Johnny's parked at CP, when he owns Long Creek. Yesterday I should have been off the pond quicker. Took one completely over the bow on Jump Off Island. Had a Wake Boat come by and it was a big one. You could see the boat from the way it was riding in the water that it was totally full of ballast. It was easy rolling 5 foot plus wakes. I got the bow in to it, and the first wave lifted me almost straight up. I got a small wash over with the second wave and the 3rd one came completely into the compartment over the bow. On a positive note, my carpet is squeaky clean now. Good Luck. Mitch f Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Besides drugs, I've got to think the chick was the real problem. I'm guessing she told her boyfriend a lie because she wanted to stir up something, knowing her boyfriend had a temper. Have seen chicks do that! "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Old plug Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Well this forum does promote your area to the world and it will bring all kinds of problems with it. You can look forward to this guy who is going to establish his world headquarters down there. Geeeee just think there might be a Bollywood on the horizon. MR Babler----- Seems to me were all headed back to the days of old up here on LOZ when people took pot shots at boats. I think you can remember that. If ( or should I say when) that returns with our current national attitude being what it is. It should be very interesting. skeeter 1
Jason Essary Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 My turn. Realize this was at 11pm. Last weekend we had a cabin cruiser pull in on our back side while we were going down a bank. They slowed and came in behind us. I thought they were going to the dock where we started. They started turning and heading between us and the bank. We were only in 18' and this was a three story 40' boat. I yelled asking what they were doing. They commented "well what did we expect. It's dark out here". Which I reminded him that this kind of thing happens when the %=\**** sun goes down. Never hoped for a rock pile so much before. Members Flipn Posted June 29, 2015 Members Posted June 29, 2015 Bill B, Had the same thing happen at Long Creek area yesterday. BIg wake boat came way to close while we were fishing and huge wakes lifted up the boat and then poured over the bow and into the rest of the boat. Just had barely enough time to get pointed into the tsunami before it hit. Lots of disrespect on the Rock lately.
