I can now see why Ned heads are such a lucrative business.....once you rig one the hook rusts out in 24 hours.

I've caught a few dozen bass, about 40 drum, and a channel cat on them, but I have gone through at least 25 jig heads.

Do they make that crap without salt ?

You can work the salt out of the elaztech material with lots of stretching and what not. I dont know why there is so much salt in those things. Also the tail stands up quite a bit more and moves when you rub all the salt out of it. Thats just what ive heard...i have no use for such a ridiculous lure.

I think I have more rocks eat the Ned than bass. But when a rock swallows it, you lose.

On the board this afternoon we now have an active Ned Thread, an argument about concealed weapons, and Rickf just posted a Kentucky bass report out of Aunt's creek (fingers crossed it leads to another C&R debate!)

All is right in the world. Carry on fellas.

Anyone been gigging?

I'd say there's been plenty of gigging back and forth on here for a while :secret-laugh:

Judging by the traffic on Rick's recent posts, I'd say no debate is forthcoming. But we all know you are a master chef when it comes to stirring the proverbial pot.

Which hooks? It will eat up a bronze Eagle Claw/Mustad or even a quality Owner hook. The black nickel Mustads are the best about not corroding, followed by the heavy gammies. I have some Mustads that have been rigged up since April and they would be good to go this afternoon.

When you get done, squeeze out any excess water, and let them dry. As for no salt, you could try the TRD (less salt), and the Finesse WormZ (a 4" and a trick worm size that can be cut down). Personally, I think the cut stick whips them all.

I don't reuse worm hooks, and have lots more trouble with hooks like an EWG gammie rusting with a Zoom bait or a tube on them. Terminal tackle is pretty much a consumable.

Put the bait in you mouth wrench and slurp on it for a while. That will do the trick.
