This is a typical meanie to me. Whiter belly, dimensions a little off, and more of a spot shaped tail. Pretty defined stripe, but with brown fish coloration.

I've caught a few that were "more green", sometimes with a less defined stripe, and more brown fish markings. One of those:

You can see a more smallmouth shaped tail too.

This one is a brown fish Dave caught with me this spring. You can see what almost looks like a stripe where her markings are just a little closer together, and darker. Think that is what is showing up in the one pic of the sea monster.

How blessed we are to have such beautiful creatures available to us.

I love those dark brownies. They look almost black in pics taken in the sunlight.

Aw shoot, I love them all. Even the little 7" boogers that don't have their colors yet.

Is that a Gunfish in that middle pic? Almost looks like a Dalton Special but the lip is different.

The prettiest bass I have ever caught was a meanie out of Lake Whitney in central Texas. I slow rolled a spinnerbait on a bluff bank getting a LOT of wind. I wwent there to throw a spook, but it had way too much wind for that.

It was about a 2 pound fish that looked like you took a smallie that you painted with spotted bass colors and then coated everything in a translucent olive. This was pre easy fishing photo days and I was alone SO no picture. I was in my Stratos 279VF which I sold in 1998. I'd have to guess it was August 1998 maybe 1997.

I love that lake, but I'd be shocked if I ever fish there again.

Totally Awesome! I can only imagine the stories he will tell about catching a world record fish with his Grandpa!

It's a Yozuri Whack-O. They quit making them several years ago. Sometimes they pop up on Ebay.
