there is no such thing as not having enough money for some people, just so happens I know of such a person, I am glad I live the simple life.

NEss I am not sure what I am looking at here but I have to assume that it would indicate that this is a possibility.....with JM valued at $4.1 billion he could surely make something happen...maybe he should call our very own Warren Buffett and between the two of them find enough coin in the cushions of their couches to buy Cabela's

Stock chart for Cabela's for one year. Traded as high as $58 in March, now trading at around $43 after hitting a low of $33. Big dips in July and October -- probably after reporting quarterly earnings. The lower graph is volume traded. Pretty big pikes recently -- a private equity firm announced a 10% position in the stock the other day. A pretty big run up price yesterday when Reuters had an article about possible buyout.

Article re: private equity firm buying a big chunk of Cabela's here

So -- Johnny's worth $4 billion?

all very interesting.  just from my perspective about jm, and that is, he is not the most honest person to have any dealings with.  i speak from things i know that have happened to other people i know that have dealt with bps, and from my own experience.  i might have more congratulations for bps if all they have done was in a more honest manner.

i think someone else mentioned this observation, and if bps does take over cabela's, it might really increase tackle warehouse's business.  they just moved into a bigger warehouse.  not only do they have great inventory, but competitive prices because they do not have all the overhead of glitzy stores.

All the overhead of the glitzy stores is what provides jobs.

I may shop online but I buy from brick and mortar.

and less glitzy places do not also provide jobs?  also, on-line stores also have employees.  not really any right or wrong answer.  guess it is just how you perceive it.

Doesn't even compare.

Imagine if you will BPS and Cabela's were  online only. How many thousands would be out if a job?

Ever seen how an Amazon warehouse works?  There's an awful lot of automation going on there.
