Dave, well put. Risk versus reward.  I'll be hitting it hard thanksgiving weekend.

Ran home from the deer woods for one day last week and we had a spoon bite that was close to 20 pounds.  Heard reports yesterday of a really nice spoon bite, most all LM.  We had a 5 and two 4 pound LM in our batch with a really nice bunch of those 18 inch grey ole big K's.

This weather is going to put them where we usually catch them after Thanksgiving.  I'm Giddy.

That is big fish weather coming. Big blacks and spots on blades, and outbreaks of SSS-Stupid Smallmouth Syndrome- on grubs and swimmers.

That is why sell all that gore tex...

Ya'll can have the bigguns, no way I'm fishing tomorrow in upper 30 temps and sustained 20 MPH winds.

But, you might see me out there next week.

Good things about my aluminum boat:  It's light, trailers easily, I can launch and load it real easy by myself with or without a ramp, and I can pull the motor up and use the trolling motor to go up shallow creeks during the white bass spawn and sucker run.  Bad thing about my aluminum boat:  In the wind it'll scoot backwards and sideways faster than it has ever moved forward.  :)

My trolling motor is only 54 lbs thrust motor guide on a 17' 6" Champion total approx boat weight around 2200 lbs with me in it...lol..so high winds make it tough to go. I'm thinking maybe Monday or Tuesday i might get out there depending on weather.
