Quillback Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Got out today for some fishing, had to work for them. Started off slow on the Ned, decided to do some cranking with the Rock Crawler, caught a 3 lb. LM right off the bat, another one about 12", and then spent an hour throwing the RC without another touch. I was running down the bank, fishing the RC, saw something on the lake side swirling on top, threw the RC at it, no bite, then picked up the Ned and threw it out there, let it drop a couple of feet, picked it up, and this trout grabbed it. Picked up another dozen bass on the Ned and Mega 110. Couple of nice keeper spots. Water temps 51-52. Grumpy53, Ham, Champ188 and 1 other 4
Members Grumpy53 Posted December 25, 2015 Members Posted December 25, 2015 Beats the heck out of working, which was what I was doing. If you can catch some fish when you go out, part of the time but not all, you're doing OK in my mind. I would rather spend 6 hours and catch what you did today than one hour of work for 8 hours pay. Good report QUILLBACK. You got a variety of 'em today. Nothing wrong with that.
96 CHAMP Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 nice day of fishing, congrats and Merry Christmas!!
cheesemaster Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Nice report and glad you got out today. Nothing better than spending time on the lake, even better when the weather cooperates on Christmas Eve.
Champ188 Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Christmas plans got postponed due to illness in the family so Donna and I are going Christmas day. Hope to do as well as you did, QB.
176champion Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Nice fish and good report...Merry Christmas... I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
Hammer time Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Great report, and nice pics! You have a uncanny nack of catching trout, hats off to you. Have had several buddies catch one at the dam area, and way up white river as you do. I fish that area often and have never caught a trout, several eyes but never a trout. Congradulations, I want to join that club! Merry Christmas to all!
Quillback Posted December 25, 2015 Author Posted December 25, 2015 Nothing but blind luck on catching a trout every once in a while, but for some reason they like the Ned.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 I was at the local urban trout pond last week and I really wanted to try the ned. No soft plastics or scented baits are allowed though. Although a guy across from us had no problem using bait. I guess he thought we wouldn't notice him going to his pocket after every cast. With a bait caster no less. Pete

I use the Ned specifically for trout at some of the lakes they stock trout in around here. Every once in awhile I'll even catch one of those pesky brown or green fish while I'm doing it
