Members MSeery Posted January 4, 2016 Members Posted January 4, 2016 Just an FYI for All, At $3 to launch per day, it only takes 14 outings to make this worth while. I contacted the CoE this morning...they do not have the tags yet. I am on the list.
zarraspook Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 I was going to "like this" for getting the information out to all but, I don't like the "feds" increasing fees; when they denied me a cost-of-living raise !!!! "Big brother" should NOT be allow to make a 50% fee increase, if those of us that worked 50+ year and paid in for 50+ years get told your cost didn't go up and by the way we are making a 50% increase on anything that gets you out of the house... !!!!!!!!(^&($#@%#&*(()*(%##@#@#$WWE*U*(IE(O !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next guy can have the soapbox now...... terryj1024, blacknoseddace, strat278 and 3 others 6 "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
Ham Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 C'mon zarra, I'm sure you're going to get extra benefits from the extra expense right. Mitch f 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
MOPanfisher Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Some additional information. If you have one of the various passes (Golden Age, Golden Access, ATB Senior, ATB Access) and properly display it then there is no day use charge. There will be plastic placards to hang from the mirror and display the passes like the Annual Pass. There are some additional new passes out there such as volunteers, active military etc. I will try to post a link to the website that covers it all tomorrow. Members jbeenemd Posted January 5, 2016 Members Posted January 5, 2016 Where and how do you get the "Senior passes"? I turned 65 today and was thinking about sending in for fee for this this year. If there is any pass that I can use to either get a reduced fee or free than I am all for it. I agree with Zarra, seems like the gov'ment always more out of my pocket book and gives back less to those that actually worked for a living.
Quillback Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 And I believe this money goes into the general fund, not to the COE's operating budget. So, basically, it's wasted. Might as well take a $10 bill out of your wallet and burn it, you're out $10 and it won't make one bit of difference to the federal budget. terryj1024 and dtrs5kprs 2
MOPanfisher Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 https://store.usgs.gov/pass/index.html also soon the COE Offices should have them, however exact delivery date unknown.
MOPanfisher Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Well my work computer apparently doesn't like the OA site. If Phil or somebody wants to shoot me an email address I have a nice brochure I can send, that shows all the passes and what they do. Also appears that my phone is many levels smarter than me.
straw hat Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 I followed MoPanfisher's link. Found out how to buy a senior pass ($20 on line/$10 at a designated point of sale such as the Corp office on Stockton Lake). It covers all day use charges which includes boat launches (per the site). Must be 62 or older to apply. I am going to call the Corp office later and verify the info and then make arrangements to pick up a pass.
nxs Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 I have had one for years. I get the yearly ramp pass for half price due to my disability. Was $15 a year. But you say with the Golden Age card it should be free??
