Must have been a rich one.....bought his own jet, holding tanks and all just to clean up a few ponds. Would have been less expensive/less trouble to dig new ponds. Whatever dude. You humor me too. So now that we've settled THAT.....Who sold the REPUTABLE SOURCES the story (lie?) about the sewage treatment outflows down south ? And why would they wanna direct blame away from the fish farmer? You do realize that if we find out the fish farmer had a degree in biology that YOU still have to buy the doughnuts, right ? I'm not blaming anyone. That is you. I'm just pointing out the truth. You ever try doing that? You are too, you're blaming a single fish farmer from Arkansas. And not because you're in touch with any "truth", it's just because I bug you. Hell, you might as well blame Marty's dad, or the Pope, or anyone except someone that ever passed a biology exam. Because your whole argument isn't aimed at truth, it is only aimed at trying to debunk anything and everything I have ever said or implied. I get under your skin and for some twisted little reason that brings me joy.
Chief Grey Bear Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Speaking of recipes, I saw an episode of Andrew Zimmern when he was in the St. Louis area. They fried up some of these and he talked about what delicacy they were. Now I know he eats some pretty wild scat but, I'd like to try it and see. MOPanfisher Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Do biologists and other scientists made mistakes and are sometimes unable to see the long term consequences, sure. But more invasive species are introduced by non scientific folks such as pet and aquarium industry or shipping, than not. Rusty crayfish, hydrilla, quaggas and zebra mussels, lion fish. By and large after some notable and repeated failures from the 70s & 80s most biology based agencies quit attempting to introduce new species to combat some other problem. Honestly I don't know of any recent (last 20 years) introductions. What is here is likely to stay and must be either death with or adjusted to. Bow shooting the Asians would be a blast, but I would love to tie into them with a rod and reel as well. Caught a 50 pound grass carp years ago and it was enjoyable for sure. Chief Grey Bear 1

Merely trying to keep you from making yourself anymore of a fool than you already have, doesn't mean I am placing blame. Just giving you the facts. You run your own risk with taking them to the doughnut shop biologist. You don't bother me a lick. I enjoy these exchanges. Didnt you find it kinda funny that Marty's dad got them from a fish farmer in Arkansas? I'm sure he was mistaken and it was actually a sewage lagoon in Louisiana. Now don't get me in the middle of this and here is to dear old dad and how I miss him! BUT I know for a fact it was bought at a fish farm not far from my house and WAS transported from Arkansas fish farm. fishinwrench Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I'm not disputing that Arkansas fish farmers had them. I'm just saying that they weren't the first ones to bring them into the U.S. and release them into U.S. water. Deadstream 1
MOPanfisher Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Snagged, never heard that. Tell me what you mean by falls apart. And it sounds like maybe Billethead was responsible for their introduction.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Their skin and flesh are so weak and mushy you can't hardly handle them without them falling a part. I posted reports on here with many pictures. It was quite a few years back now. Pete
