Gotta say as much as I find Zona irritating, I would just have to disembowel Mercer and tell God he died.

Dang, remind me to never get on your bad side.........:o

Most of you guys are too young to remember the "old" fishing shows. La Salle outdoors with Jim Thomas or shows with Virgil Ward. Champ, they must have put 1,000 bass on stringers for the show ending "money shot" of a stringer full. Beetle spins and Daredevils. Rapalas were still too new. Now there were some tough to watch shows.

God I'm old!

I like a good fishing show, but so many of them are unwatchable.  Not only the personalities in some of these shows, but locations.

I was watching Shaw Grigsby (He's got an irritating, high pitched giggle) fishing in Florida.  He's punching mats.  Every time he caught a fish, he'd muscle it out of that hydrilla, and the fish would be encased in a massive glob of weeds, once he got it to the boat, you literally could not see the fish for all the weeds they were buried in.  Then he'd go on about how you have to use 65 lb. braid, a stout rod, etc., and he'd go through that shtick every time he caught a fish.  Looked about as fun as snagging stumps in Table Rock.  If that's how you have to catch bass in Florida, it would turn me into a salt water fisherman if I lived there.

I guess it is my advancing age. I like Zona and Dave Mercer, but I need them cut to half strength or something. It's just too much. I need to have a squelch knob that I can adjust to limit their goofiness. I won't attempt to watch them fish together.

Count me in the Zona fan club. I admire his genuine gusto for catching fish and seeing others catch them, two things I am just as passionate about (well, close anyway).  Plus, he has not yet turned the show into a fishing infomercial which I greatly appreciate. And, who can deny his almost single-handed advancement of the fishing lexicon? Come on now. How many caught a slaunch before Zona appeared on the scene and how many have caught one since?? I know I've caught several...

I have to agree that the Table Rock show was a little light on the fishing info but I have to admit I was curious to see if either of his Italian Leprechauns were an apple from the same tree. It was a little hard to tell as both seemed a little camera-shy if not downright terrified to be on a fishing show with the Z Train.

Feel free to take all this as worth a grain of salt as I am just another jacked, amphetamine-laced norfer. :lol:  (thanks for the hearty laugh, Dave).

Show was a bit of a disappointment, glad to see he got out with his boys, but it didn't make for much of a show.

TR fishes a little more difficult than dragging a tube on GPSed rockpiles on Erie. Homeboy might have gotten spoiled by too much good intell.

It's official.  It's a clear targeting of the pine tree places.

Takes a while to get Ozarkified. Can remember when I moved just as far south as KC and the local folks told me I talked to fast.

You are somehow blind to the product placement and the endless shilling for his sponsers. Strike King this and Striike king that. Nitro, Nitro, Nitro.

Thank God they have toned down the animation stuff a little.

Man people are quick to throw stones.. I think both shows are great shows and are a change from what the traditional fishing shows have been like. The bring energy and also a lot of tips. I guess to each their own.. but one thing is for certain they must be doing something right because they have a successful fishing show and are getting to do it for a living with big time sponsors.

Would have liked to have seen more than just drop shot n but this was a show tailored to his kids which very glad to see someone showing a good example of what being a father is like on TV. Don't see that much these days..
