I am headed down there tomorrow. Will be there till about noon as the wife runs loose in the stores. more thwn likely falling asleep in the chairs.  I really buy  aslittle there as possible. i do  not support some of old Jonney and his business practices. My kids are determined to give me Pro Bass gift cards at Christmas however in spite of having  told them all 3 times i do not really like to shop there anymore. Only thing that place has right now that I want is a couple of bags of jig trailers, some hooks, and just maybe a buck tail depending on them having any things  like ginger, and shades of green that are quality. As a rule they usually do have quality bucktail. AS A RULE. You got to inspect them closely.

Wait till you see what Cabela's prices will jump to now that Basspro has bought them.BPS has the highest prices in the industry.Go in one of their stores and look at any item with a price tag and count the # of stickers on the hanger, there will be 5-7 old price labels. When you see a sale advertising 20% off that means you are paying what they were selling it at 2 weeks ago..Please don't fall for a really good ad price in one of their sale fliers, they will only have 4-5 of those items in the store.I went to the customer service counter a couple of years ago and turned in my rewards card because of their high prices.I would say boycott them till their prices come down or they fold.

On the high prices of spinnerbaits,Lureparts Online sell 100 #7 gold Indiana blades for around $90.00 depending on the daily price of gold, skirts cost .65 cents apiece, wire arm .10 cents each, owner hook will run .45 cents, swivel $1.00 split rings .4 cents, now paint the head and put it together.

As  far as not needing a good swivel for your spinnerbait, you don't know what you are talking about.I bet you don't believe in global warming either.

Although I use them (because they come on everything now) I'd like to challenge Ball Bearing Swivels. I think they may be a crock of bull.   Especially on Spinnerbaits.  Not one bit of difference in how that blade turns when in the water UNLESS your standard swivel is too big.

Standard Swivels are more consistent too.  One out of every 5 BB Swivels will turn roughly, or become rough after a short while.  Yes even Sampo's.  Whereas standard barrel swivels become smoother with use.

The swivel deal comes from the late Jim Rogers of Rogers Lures. He was set that crane swivels give off a squeak that BB swivels do not, and catch bigger fish as a result. Best spinnerbait fisherman I've ever met (apologies to Champ) ordered 50 each white and plain chart baits every year, single #5 Colorado, crane swivel. Straight disposable, and he fished them that way.

Most folks will never run a blade slowly enough to need a BB swivel.
