Bass have such expensive tastes in minnow imitations. You do they don't. Guys around here use the old Rogues year after year. Some might be modified in some way or another but they are still the old Rogue
joeD Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 There are much better options than the Rogue. The new generation of suspending jerkbaits cast better, dive quicker, suspend and move better, and have sharper hooks and better paint jobs. Sometimes newer is better,
Alex Heitman Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Joe newer is usually better but I have much better luck on Taney and the blue ribbon section of the current with the big floating rogue. I put a suspend strip on it so it slows the rise and they can't stand it.

My buddy and I have stood side by side plenty of times throwing a Megabass 110 and a Luck E Strike RC STX and couldn't tell a difference in which one worked better.
mjk86 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Ya that was my pathetic attempt at sarcasm, expensive jerk baits are dumb. I like RC Stx quite a bit, I also like xraps, even though most folks dont seem too. I mean...seriously, it looks like a minnow, new ones have the weight transfer deal so you can cast em further, thats good, but cheap new ones do too. I think they all need a hook upgrade, and I like to put feathers on em and paint em up all pretty.
Flysmallie Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I used to think that exact same thing mjk86. Then one day on Table Rock a megabass changed my mind about all that. Is it always better? No. But sometimes they are. Just like sometimes on another close lake a gold rogue with a white belly will get bit when nothing else will. Seth and Mitch f 2

The LC are good too. So is the Jackall "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
mjk86 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I have no doubt that a megabass is a great lure. And im sure there will always be days where one jerkbait outshines another.....lots of days it may even be that megabass, i just cant wrap my head around 27 dollars for a lure! Too scared to fish with it!
Blazerman Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Our group will be down at Gaston’s like we usually are the third week of Feb. I plan on having 3 different jerkbaits on three different rods and will be slinging them for 3.5 days. I will be throwing a Megabass, an LC Slender Pointer and probably a Husky jerkbait. I like the Husky with the Blue/Chrome and orange belly. May be switching through different colors too. I am hearing we may have 25-30 guys in our little tournament this year so there will plenty of jerks throwing jerkbaits like me. And normally someone ends up with Brown over 10lbs. When it is over I will report back on which one was the best.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Can't wait! Pics would be nice too. Not of the jerks, the fish. Pete Seth 1
