Jerry Rapp Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 at least it is not as bad as Flint, Michigan. But... a month later they issue a statement? And a month later it is not fixed? MSD has always been a joke.
Haris122 Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Yeah, more than a bit late. And the 500 year levy claims also seem a bit dubious.
SpoonDog Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I dunno how long it'd take to repair a house after 25 feet of water had sat in it for a week, but probably a month or more. Most sewage treatment plants run on bacteria which has to repopulate- it ain't like you can just wait for everything to dry out and then flip a switch. All "500 year flood" means is there's a 0.2% chance of it happening any given year. Chief Grey Bear 1

Guess I'll stay off the lower river for now. The lower river often has a robust fecal aroma...and that's with these up and running. Wonder what it like now....maybe there will be a killer bite on brown senkos.
jdmidwest Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Aww poop. Good place to find brown trout now. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Haris122 Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Yeah I figured that's what 500 year levy meant, but most of the record levels for this one were what, like inches higher than the records for the onefrom 93 (or whatever year that was). So the statistics on that claim seem dubious, or something changed in the frequency for really bad floods.
moguy1973 Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I was just down at Simpson park for a run and I stopped in at the boat ramp in Kirkwood since I saw some signs at the top of the ramp. That's what they said, to avoid contact with the river from Fenton down to the Mississippi. I'm guessing that's from where the plant is in Valley Park down stream. There was a super foul smell in the park by Simpson lake boat ramp. Wonder how long they will have that notice up. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
