Smalliebigs Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Well I met up with Hog Wally at his shop to pour some jigheads and BS. Hog Wally said he had enough time for about two hours of fishing. When I heard that the excitement started flow as I knew he had a specific area in mind that he had found thru his almost daily river fishing from his house on the Meramec. We arrived at the river and it was up about three to four feet and was moving pretty darn good and murky. My expectations floundered but, I was still pumped to just run around in Wally's sweet boat. The water temps were 52 at the surface and the clarity wasn't great but we just destroyed them. Our 5 best fish in an hour and a half of fishing went 18+lbs. We caught them on a Megabass Ito 110+1 in Table Rock Shad and the Mitch craw on a 5/16th jighead. It was flat out nuts....it seemed to me that we really fired this school up with the jerkbait and then just picked off some really nice fish on the Mitch craw. Action like we just had is few and far between so I am relishing what just happened. Trust me these aren't all the same fish....we caught four fish in the hour and a half that weighed well over 3lbs aND several 17 inch fish iN the 2+ range..we had to go but, could have caught more. For me this qualifies as "epic", at least for and hour and a half laker67, Hog Wally, Quillback and 7 others 10
bkbying89 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 O.K. for all the guys out here who don't have sweet jet boats and a secret honey hole. Stop, Just Stop. Just kidding great fish. Mitch f and Smalliebigs 2

Greasy B Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Wow what a day, good for you guys. Are those Mitch Craws? They have made my life a little easier on the river. Very rarely do I not throw it. I usually throw a seek and destroy lure to find fish then I pummel em with the craw. They will almost always eat it

Bring the action. Catch me if you can style fishing though. This pattern should be all up and down the river so let's run and gun. Smalliebigs and MOsmallies 2
