Members wmander Posted March 29, 2016 Author Members Posted March 29, 2016 Totally agree Sore Thumbs & Bill. How do you ever get better if you don't share info & tips every now & then? Trace Hollow & Little Indian is where the 6.01 & 7.01 came from Saturday. They are still there if anyone was wondering- caught, weighed, & released. Full of eggs. Highest water temp we found was around 56. I'd post a pic if it would let me. Caught an 18 in rainbow trout in that area too. Wondering if that is normal or not? Weird, maybe he was lost. magicwormman and arsenal1477 2
abkeenan Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I am not saying don't share information and certainly don't stop taking pics. Ozark Anglers is probably one of the best resources for fishing information on the web (Thanks Phil!). We have a TON of awesome, awesome contributors. But there is a point where you have to be at least a little discrete and leave a LITTLE to the imagination when sharing stuff on the internet. If you want to give exact points, baits, banks, docks, humps, brush piles fine.....but like RPS said a few post ago expect increased activity on your fishin' spots. Be smart about it is all I'm sayin'. Champ188, magicwormman and Donna G 3
marcus Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 all i wanna know is when am i gonna get a bonus walleye when im bass fishing iv been fishing water with walleye every year since i was a kid and still never caught one ...they are sure hard to come by from my point of view but on the other hand i still never purposely used walleye techniques either way ill be on table rock in 3 weeks and i wanna catch one !
chi0082 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Sounds like your version of give-and-take = we give, you take, done deal. On the other hand, since the info in your head is enough to wipe out our Walters if it fell into hillbilly hands, probably best that you don't spill the beans. It's funny you say that, because walleye are very vulnerable and are congregated thick in certain spots on the lake at certain times of the year. And if you know what you're doing, you could easily catch a limit in very short time, go home put the fish away and come back to catch more. I know guys who have done that and have ruined a great spot because of it. All because of me and my big mouth. I'm so done with that. bfishn 1

It could happen on any cast. Last summer I was on a point a little earlier than the sun, throwing a topwater that I couldn't see when Sir Walter grabbed it. We knew it was too big a fish to swing into the boat but could not see it. Lily leaned over to lip it and pulled her hand back in the nick of time. Never heard of a walleye hitting topwater. 7lbs 5 ounces and back in the water. Got to let those big ones live and have babies even if they are delicious. dtrs5kprs, Champ188, abkeenan and 2 others 5
bfishn Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 ...How do you ever get better if you don't share info & tips every now & then? ... You go fishing. Every chance you get. You get your butt handed back to you. A lot. You learn from that. You build a strategy based on failures. Occasionally you'll get lucky. You learn from that too. When you finally develop a few successful strategies you'll find the satisfaction earned was well worth the effort. abkeenan, chi0082, Champ188 and 1 other 4 I can't dance like I used to.

Go to Stockton, bounce a 3/8 oz football jig head with a hula grub in water from 15-30 of water in the little creek arms. It will happen. You can also stumble across them by dragging a grub on the flat points at Stockton as well 5 foot to 25 foot. A Fat Albert Grubor 4 inch grub. Easy. dtrs5kprs, marcus and magicwormman 3 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

Or flipping a big jig in willows. Stockton is loaded with the buggers. I do believe if I started the day with a walleye on TW I'd likely quit and trailer it. No sense pushing things when they are that weird. Ham, magicwormman, Macsimus and 3 others 6

Hey Marcus, like the other guys said, if you just want to catch one, Stockton is the lake to go to. They aren't as big there as in the lakes of the white river system, but there's a good population there for a good chance at some good eating size ones. I normally don't fish the spawn, because the action is no where as good as the pre-spawn and post spawn, but you can still catch a few with reaction type baits there now. However, you're a month late on the better fishing. Just sayin. That's enough from my big mouth. Good luck and hope you hook up with one. marcus 1
Flysmallie Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I've caught a bunch of walleye, up to 5 lbs, on Stockton throwing a big spinnerbait. I was never targeting them. dtrs5kprs and Champ188 2
