Launched at Long Creek Ramp at 6:30 well sort of.  Backed down to the ramp had my long rope hooked to my trailer and to the front of my boat.  Backed down the ramp and boat floated off of the trailer just perfect so I started to pull up the ramp slowly and the boat started to pull up and I pulled up a little more and looked at the boat and it was side ways and I thought that is strange.  So I pulled up a little more and the boat is still side ways and not moving towards the ramp, so I jump out the truck and go to the trailer and the rope is still hooked to the trailer put not to the boat the rope had came untied from the hook on the boat.  I took off my shoes and socks real fast and pull up my pant legs and head into the water knee deep and grab the back of the boat.  I get the boat turned around and tied up, put on my shoes and socks.  Putting on my last shoe just as someone is pulling up to launch, perfect timing no one seen what happened.  Park the truck, get in the boat and head towards Brushy.  I stopped at several cut areas and fished the cuts and then  jigged some standing timber.  Ended up catching 2 keeper crappie on a black, green pepper tube jig, the bite was very lite.  I caught a bunch of 4" to 6" bass and a bunch of 4"  perch.  Stopped crappie fishing at about 10:30, so 4 hours of fishing with only 2 crappie.  Had about 45 minutes left to fish thought I would do some bass fishing.  Caught 4 bass on a spilt shot rig with a green pumpkin fish doctor,  biggest on was about 14 inches.  Water temp was 57.  After how the day started still had a great time on the lake.

funny you should mention drain plug, I probably shouldn't even post this, funny but true, last spring I got down to play-port one night and decided  to put the boat in alone, never got in a hurry, but forgot to put the drain plug in, got over to the dock ready to tie up, under the lights  and noticed the boat leaning bad, oops, better get back to the trailer, what a mess. First time and hopefully the last, thought I would share.

I am 100% absolutely, positive sure that no one else on this board has ever had this happen to them.

Gonna be down Friday-Tuesday.  Hopefully me and my dad can catch a few crappie.  Would love to see a few close to the bank.  Hard to beat bobber/minnow fishing.  Just fun stuff!

Good ending for something to go wrong in the beginning ... at least the wind dint blow it over to the other side  and you didnt have to swim after it...I usually climb in the bed of my truck and step down on trailer then climb in boat and start it up and then go and untie or unhook bow but i have used the rope thing to launch a couple of times. I have an automatic bilge pump in my boat and always turn it on auto when im launching that way if i ferget the plug and water starts coming out thru hull i know something is not quite right. I know someone on  here that forgot to pick trolling motor up 1 time and took off, luckly it did not tear anything up..

I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything!

Whew, thought I was the only one.  Forget drain plug, remove it at ramp and lay on trailer while draining, then drive away losing plug somewhere on road home, forget to put trailer stand up, hint a F150 does have enough power to damage the heck out of that stand, forgetting that during a road trip to fish you locked every compartment and put the key in a hiding spot for safety then remembering you did but not remembering what hide spot you put it in, gas also seems to be important as well as battery charge if my past tells me anything.
