Mitch f Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 If it's not by force, then you might call it being "strongly impelled" to go in a certain direction. In a similar situation, The Boston Mayor Mereno said Chic Fil A was not welcome in his city, but since he couldnt do anything legally, "we can use all our power..Bully- pulpit wise, to stop them from getting a permit". This all based on an an interview where the CEO of Chi Fil A said he believed in traditional marriage. What the Chic Fil A CEO said is considered hate speech now. fishinwrench Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Wait a minute. If you're a male that wants to be a female, but your not homosexual, then what are you? A male lesbian? How can that work? When people start deciding they wanna be dogs, will it be OK for them to lay around licking their balls, run the neighborhoods pissing on tires, chasing cats and tearing up trash, or will they be considered koo-koo and locked up ? I think it's time to stop pandering to people with mental disorders. Feel sorry for them if you want to, but let's not change the world to accommodate them. Doing so just incites a flurry of that kind of thing. Mitch f, Smalliebigs, MOPanfisher and 2 others 5
Deadstream Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Ruff, ruff. I want to be a Beagle. Then a Blue Heeler, then a Black Lab and a German Shorthair, oh, and an Irish setter...

I highly doubt pander is really what you wanted to say hear, as I would imagine most people who are transgender would rather not have the whole world to know of it. While I am not transgender, I have depression and anxiety and, while in school and freshly out of school(broke), I couldn't afford medications or other treatment for my depression. Thankfully my new place of employment does pay for mental health and, while it is a process, it's nice to have the help. I would say that the US is well behind the rest of the first world regarding mental disorders. I know that my insurance will not pay for mental health, but I'm sure it will pay for ED pills. People, literally, kill themselves from mental disorders yet it seems that we as a nation would rather fixate on weight loss surgeries etc. It's sad to see statements like yours, not only does it display a deep misunderstanding of issues that people deal with, but it also encourages people to follow and accept these views.
fishinwrench Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Life is full of bummers and hard spells, some of which can really take a temporary toll on you. That's just life. Deal with it in whatever way works for you. If ingesting pharma chemicals is what you think it takes to get through life ...so be it I guess. I see that as a crutch (a mental disorder in itself) that truly does nothing to help you long term. What you are saying is that you are incapable of living very far from a pharmacy. That's sad. I honestly believe you are capable of being mentally stronger than that, but we'll never know. Smalliebigs 1
SpoonDog Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 As the nation watches two sociopaths vie for Leader of the Free World it becomes abundantly clear most Americans aren't that worried about mental disorder ;). I'm highly suspicious Urgh and Glurgh spent a substantial amount of time arguing about who uses what hole in the cave, and for probably half the world or more a trip to the bathroom is about as unceremonious as it is for my mutt. Only in America are we so hypersensitive about our BMs (and the BMs of everyone around us) that we're willing to make a federal case out of it. It's not changing the world. It's accepting the way it's always been. I'm not a doctor, but if it really is a mental disorder then recognizing transgendered people isn't going to "incite a flurry of that kind of thing-" such disorders aren't contagious. If it is a mental disorder, it's pretty innocuous compared to all the other stuff we put up with- not like Baton Bob was at the helm of Lehmann Bros., and maybe J. Edgar would've been less cranky had he been able to use the ladies' room. And if it's a mental disorder, it's not something follks can switch on or off any more than they can male pattern baldness.
Old plug Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 I am convinced it is in the genes. We had a a boy I knew from birth that was constantly from the age he crawled into girly things. As far as marriage is concerned Insee some condusion about the word. It is a legal term applied to different things. So I must say there is no way a court can rule against the word marriage. But in the religious sence it should maybe be discribed in a different way.
Mark Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 fishinwrench - it's sad that you think depression is the same as being a "bummer and hard spells", and "That's just life". You are basically insinuating that anyone who suffers from depression is just weak for taking depression meds and "not capable of being mentally stronger". It's really sad that others think the same way as you. You are clueless on the topic of depression. It is much more debilitating than being bummed out. I can't believe that someone who seems to be as intelligent as you could be so ignorant on the topic of mental illness. mjk86 1

People love to get involved in dictating the lives of other people for no reason. 2.) If a tranny decides to lick their balls and piss on tires....they would probably be arrested. I have yet to see any gay or trans gendered people doing anything more inappropriate than any straight couple. 3.) Def not pandering, this is quite insulting to lots of people with mental health problems, its really unfortunate folks think this way.... People kill themselves is all that needs to be said...youve never walked in on a loved one swinging from a drain pipe in the basement, getting them down is really really unpleasant trust me. I imagine that you probably care more about the lives of black bass than you do humans though.

Mark, "suffering from depression" is a clinical cliché that never existed until the country was overrun by psychologists who needed more patients. You are either depressed about something that has happened but you are too overwhelmed to change for, or you are depressed for no apparent reason. Pills don't fix it, and psychologist's can't fix it. You are either mentally strong enough to overcome it, or you aren't. What's so mean and ignorant about stating the hard cold facts about it. Tip toeing around facts does not help anyone understand or overcome anything. Smalliebigs and Deadstream 2
