dtrs5kprs Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Talked myself into going out by 9am. Wasn't that hard. Fished until about 330. Mostly as usual. Temps are pushing north of 62 degrees, water is just ugly, plus had pollen floating on it. Respite from the wind was nice, at least while it lasted. Seemed a little slower than it should have been given conditions. These fish act like they are sick of being fooled with. Ended up with 8 keepers, minus a brown girl that came unglued on me. Maybe x2 on shorts. Lot of the brown fish that are up are well on the road to being done bedding. Lot of them have that stripped look. Larry was about where he was yesterday, 10'-15' or so, around wood. To prove I'm not a complete one tricker, a couple of outliers... I've caught that rogue fish twice this week. Has a very distinctive mark on its left gill flap. Last time was on a Ned. Same brushpiles. Royal Blue, Fishin4Fun, RogueAgent and 4 others 7
Members Rick E Posted April 18, 2016 Members Posted April 18, 2016 If you are talking about a little white mark on the side of the gills I have found that almost all of the Table Rock smallies I catch have that same white mark.Â

Blue hi-lite over a black scale back, and on the sides and belly. Looks very yellow in hand, less so in the water. Good stained color. Ham 1
Champ188 Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Good grief, Dave. Throwing a hard bait with trebles? Have you lost your marbles? Next thing we know you'll be wandering off the reservation all the way down to Coney Island! big c, abkeenan, mixermarkb and 4 others 7
