dtrs5kprs Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Well, the last day started with a great breakfast with friends at Ma's. Little bit of a late start, and a short day, but fish were caught. Shad are a huge factor right now. Some fish are actively working them, but looks like mostly singles. Majority of the fish seem to be eating them at opportunity, but not in a chasing way. More like snapping at them as they swim past. Those fish haven't moved much, but there are more bucks in. Temps were pushing 70 when I trailered at 245pm. Water color is horrible. Looks like a sewage lagoon. Despite some fun viewing of chasers, everything was on the little rig. Smack on the bottom. Only sense I can make of it is that they will not feed up until it clears. Caught some good ones, lost some good ones, and poked holes in a lot of shorts. Did manage one last slam, not the full keeper slam though. When I get back and am less bleary, I'll try to knock together some updated finesse info. There are a lot of little things that make the difference between catching them and not. Bait wrinkles, boat position, retrieves, etc. Donna G, Ham, Hughesy and 13 others 16
Nitro 750 Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Dave thanks for all of your reports and pics. Sounds like you had a good day. The water color in the dam area is pretty bad also.

Ham Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 I can do that. Either way, I'm going to be OK. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Ham Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 The Magical Mystery Tour has drawn to a close and Super Dave is headed back to pet Toto. All the little Brown Balls of Hate in the Hwy 13 area can feed with reckless abandon again. NebSchmidty, Donna G, mixermarkb and 3 others 6 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future.
