If they didn't do much eating for a day, it makes sense they made up for it. Don't let a fat kid eat for a day, then take him to the Hunan Buffet and watch the carnage. Yep, there was a gravel point that was loaded up with shad and bass last Friday. Yesterday the shad were gone, still some bass on that spot, but not like Friday. And the spot they were massed on yesterday, is a good place to pick a few up some days, but have never seen them there like that before and probably won't again. Time on the water is helpful, I know places where bass can be found when the top water bite starts, just have to check them out, chances are one of them will have fish. Best fishfinder for these top water fish are your eyes, take some time, look around, they aren't that hard to spot. mixermarkb, Muddy Water, Champ188 and 1 other 4

In my lifetime, I maybe only ever had a near similar experience, and that was with stripers on topwater on the east coast on a Delaware beach. It was an every cast kinda deal with blowups everywhere and baitfish were pushed right onto shore on the sand and seagulls were diving everywhere on shore and on the water to pick up the remains and the wounded, I remember it like it was yesterday, it was raining and I was completely soaked to the bone. We were waist deep in water at high tide and were casting out as far as we can with foot long topwater plugs and reeling them in as fast as we can and they would get slammed 10 ft in the air by stripers slapping at them, and then they'll come back around and engulf it. And when they did they about yanked the rod out of your hands and you just hold on for the fight of your life. I remember baitfish being slapped several feet into the air all over the beach for what seemed like miles. This went on for an hour straight and 4 of us limited out on stripers keeping nothing under 20 lbs. In the next 25 years that we went back, it never happened again. Just one of those things. I was 16 at the time. And they say nothing is more exciting at that age than a cute girl on your lap in her parents house with her parents out of town. Well, I'll trade those 30 seconds with that girl for those 60 minutes of topwater action any day. I can keep my fishing rod up longer during the heat of the action. At that age anyways. mixermarkb and Johnsfolly 2

Bill Babler Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 I didn't know it was even possible to venture onto the lake with only one 130 WP. I was told they had to purchased as a kit with three per color of every color. You need to give your tackle supplier a very stern talking too. Great day Jeff, we all need those. Sounds like my day on Bull a few days ago. big c, Muddy Water, Quillback and 2 others 5 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
