Ketchup Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Just seen on the news where a bass boat was circling near Indian Point with no driver. Hope everything goes well. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.

176champion Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Just hope everything is ok and this is only Thursday night..... I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
Ben Gillispie Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 From the look of what I've seen on social media this is not good. Now reporting as a drowning. Divers were in the water last I have seen and Stone County fire is saying they are in 'recovery mode, unable to locate a victim'. Horrible news.
abkeenan Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 NEVER good to hear this. Another reminder to WEAR YOUR PFD's! Even more so on busy holiday weekends. Takes 10 seconds to throw on a life jacket, takes even less time to make a mistake and pay with your life. Daryk Campbell Sr, 96 CHAMP, tapout and 3 others 6
176champion Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 This is terrible news, if im by myself i wear life jacket and kill switch cord hooked up to me..i even fish with the PFD on you just never know wake could catch you off guard and over you go. LD Fisher and tapout 2 I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
fozzype Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Was on the lake when divers showed up. We were fishing north bank of Indian Point. This happen right after the storm that blew through. Looked like 5 dive boats and three water patrol boats.... Praying all is well. B. Foz
fishinwrench Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Dammit I hate hearing stuff like this. As much as I know how quickly things can go wrong I still fail at putting on that freaking PFD and kill switch unless I'm operating in obviously sketchy conditions. I feel kinda stupid for it but the fact is that when I'm in my boat operating it the way I normally do I feel perfectly safe. When test driving an unfamiliar boat at speed I do wear it, and that probably saved my life once. I also ride a mountain bike and 4-wheeler with no helmet, operate a grinder without eye protection, and drive without a seat belt on. Danger lurks everywhere. Should a hunter in the woods always wear a hard hat (limbs fall all the time, just look at the forest floor.... it's littered with them)? Bad things sometimes happen even when it's unlikely, and it's unreasonable to go around constantly being "prepared" for them. People in planes don't wear parachutes. big c and terryj1024 2
MOPanfisher Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Heard this last night on the news, the circling boat is never a good sign. I am not very good about wearing PFD either, although in my personal boat I do wear it when running the big motor and keep the kill switch clipped to it, been on too many of these type calls. At work it is a requirement if on a boat, plus I have a good Inflatable at work, and after a short while I forget I even have it on. Guess I should pony up and buy one for myself, as my balance in a boat is no where close to what it used to be a couple years ago. Hope this turns out as well as it can at this point, alive and well would be good but unlikely. Hope they make a recovery soon.
