I was just dying to get out so I hit a very marginal creek at best that most people  have no idea even has fish or at least it used to.....I haven't  fished  this creek in almost 10 years.

I wasn't sure what  to expect but was hoping for the best. I accessed  on a slab that has barely any water on either side so most would never think you could catch an 18 inch smallie out of it. Where I accessed is about 2.5 miles up from a river and I hiked almost down to the river.

In two hours fishing I caught 24 smallies that were  almost all about the same size 13 to 14 inches. I did have one on the hawg trough that flipped  off and back into the creek before I could get a pic that was just under 17. I also lost a fish that was definitely 18+ at my feet. The fish were on beds and quite vulnerable but there were also plenty of fish that would nail top water. I also  caught tons of 9 to 11 inch Goggles.

I was back at work by 3:45 to clear the voice mails. ....not bad, that creek is quite healthy still and is really just a little slice of heaven that not many even think holds fish.....I saw no foot prints or signs of the fisherman :) sorry about the crappy pics I am not good at getting  good ones by myself

Awesome.  I love those little creeks.  Around here I normally find green sunfish, some punkinseds, and maybe a wormy bass or two depending on how long it has been since the water was up.  BUT you just never know what will come out of them.

I agree  with you.....Creeks are just AWESOME. ...on the flip side very fragile though

Creek smallies are a great time! That's the kind of fishing i usually wind up doing. We need to hit a few of those we talked about a couple months ago!
