Smalliebigs, great looking and healthy SMs.  I totally agree on Dave's heads.  I keep 2 rods rigged with different color Neds at all times on the deck.

Is it because they aren't sharp enough, or are we going to dive into a discussion about the tensile strength and tempering methods of common steel wire, and why some manufacturers do it one way....and some do it other ways.   

 

For Strike King I am talking about sharpness, tensile strength and whatever coating they use on their black nickel finish.

They aren't that sticky sharp, they are too soft and bend out too easily and they rust out and break off. This is in comparison to other hooks used by other manufacturers. I get it that they are $5 baits and in order to turn a profit margin you probably can't have premium hooks on the baits. I get that. But I am also not going to lose fish by not swapping out hooks or rings where I see the need. Like I said not all baits need an upgrade but some do IMO.
