Nest time come in from down wind right next to the trailer and turn into it.

Yeah that sounds easy. Now lets make it real. It's 3pm. It's dark like 3am. The wind is blowing at least 40mph, probably gusting 60ish. Lightning crashing all around. And it's raining. I mean really raining. The ramp is about 90 degrees to the wind. The courtesy dock is down wind. You can't see anything. I'm trying to get my dad's attention to kick off the reverse lights. The trailer is totally submerged and seconds later it's like it's bone dry. I'm timing it perfectly except for the occasionally big gust. Huge wind with lots of rain. I can't see anything at all. What's happening? And that's when I parked a 19 foot Champion bass boat on top of a courtesy dock. I was 23 or 24 at the time. Totally hate the wind to this day.

Helds Island on the Gasconade when the water is up can be tricky. I almost sank my boat there at 1am once. I took the father in law down there catfishing one night. When it was time to load the boat (at 1am), he didn't angle the trailer down stream and I thought I could make it on anyways. Goosed it a little late and the downstream corner got caught on the bunk and forced the upstream side down which started taking on water quickly. Luckily I was awake enough to jump up to the front and get the strap hooked so it wouldn't slide off the trailer and sink. Had to pull it up the ramp, let it drain for several minutes and then back it in and adjust it on the trailer. That was a tense situation.

Worst thing is when the current is so strong it washes the trailer off the side of the ramp before you can get the boat on it.  Did that once at the Riverview MDC Access ramp on the Meramec.

Yep 😐
